本节课的教学内容是五年级上册第一单元Unit 1 Classmates的第二课时。教学内容为：A Look, listen and answer, B Let's play a guessing game, C Let's write A部分通过 Yaoyao 和 Bill 在新同学Tom家客厅里的对话，情境化地呈现了本单元的目标功能句：What's your friend like 及其答语：He/She is…B部分通过“猜一猜”的游戏，操练功能句。C部分是学生根据B 部分提示，写出问句的答语。
教学目标
【知识目标】
1. 能够听懂、会说用来描写性格特征的功能句：What’ s your friend like 及其答语：He/She is…初步学会在恰当的情境中运用它们。
2. 能够根据问句写出答语。
【能力目标】
通过孩子结合自己的生活经验和已学的英语知识，能使用描写性格待征的词语或句子。
【情感目标】
通过对本课的学习，让学生懂得使用本课重点句式与同学们进行交流，教会学生能对同学的性格特征进行简单的描述。培养学生的观察力，使学生养成注重观察细节，观察生活的情感态度。
教学重难点

Yaoyao: Wow, there are so many model planes!哇，有好多飞机模型！
Bill: Yeah. Tom likes making model planes.耶。汤姆喜欢做飞机模型。
Yaoyao: What's Tom like 汤姆喜欢什么？
Bill: He's clever and helpful. He's very popular, too.他很聪明很乐于助人。他也很受欢迎。
We all like him. But sometimes he's careless.我们都喜欢他。但是有时他很粗心。
Yaoyao: Oh, listen, a dog is barking.哦，听,一条狗在叫。
Bill: It's Tom's pet dog, Coco. Tom often forgets to feed Coco.是汤姆的宠物狗，可可。汤姆经常忘记喂可可。
