Step 1.Warming up
1. Greetings.
2. Sing a song about famous people .
3. Look and say.Say out the famous people’s names and jobs.
Step 2.Presentations
1. Listen and match.
Oranize Ss to talk about the famous people before listening
first.Review to use the main points of the unit to talk about their names,jobs,why they are famous for,what they were good at,where they were from etc.After that, get Ss to listen and match,then check answers.
2. Let’s talk
Organize Ss to talk about their favourite famous people with the main words and sentences of the unit.First the teacher and one student give an example,then organize Ss to do pair work and act in the front after that.
Step 3.More practice
1. Let’s read
Show a passage of my favourite famous person Marie Curie,get Ss to read and find the information of Marie Curie.Help Ss know about her and recognize the words polonium , radium and Nobel Prize.
2. Read and answer
Show the passage of Marie on Page 64 and organize Ss to read and answer the questions.Ask Ss to read the questions first,then organize them to read and answer the questions.
Organize Ss to check answers together and talk about what they learnt about Marie from the passage.Finish the blackboard.
3. Draw and talk
Ask Ss to draw pictures of their favourite famous people,and
try to talk about them according to the information in their pictures.
