Soon they walk past a big store window. Brian stops. He sees bread，cakes and donuts. “It's a ba kery！” he says. “Mmm... tea biscuits，yummy! I'm hungry. Let's go in and buy something！”
“We can't stop now，Brian. Come on! We don't want to be late for school，”says Jenny. “We'll come here this afternoon.”
Soon they pass a bookstore. This time，Jenny stops. “This is my favourite store. It has so many good things to read.” Jenny stands and looks at all of the books in the window.

① Jenny and Brian are on their way to school.
1.on one’s way to在某人去……的路上
其中的one’s可以用名词所有格或形容词性物主代词。on one’s way to还可以表达成on the way to。
e.g. I happened to meet Tom on my way to the park.
在去公园的路上，我碰巧遇到了汤姆。
On my way home, I heard the news about Mike.
在回家的路上，我听说了有关迈克的消息。
如果该词组后面接表示地点的副词(如：home, here，there)时，必须省略to。

“take＋the/a＋交通工具＋to＋地点 ”意为“乘(坐)……去某地”，take在句中作谓语，相当于“go to ＋地点＋by＋交通工具” 。
e.g. Mary often takes a bus to school.
＝Mary often goes to school by bus.
玛丽经常乘公交车去上学。
与交通方式相关的常用动词短语：

3.corner/k n (r)/ n.角落；拐角，常和介词in/at/on搭配。

辨析：point to与point at
point to “指向”，多表示指向离说话人较远的事物， to是介词，着重于指的方向。 He pointed to the faraway house and smiled. 他指着远处的房子笑了。
point at “指着”，常表示指向离说话人较近的事物，at是介词，着重于指的对象。 Don’t point at the words while you are reading.
当你读书时不要指着字。
