If you’re new to San Francisco, paying the city a visit, or simply looking for a new playground for you and your dog, here are four of the finest dog parks in San Francisco.
Corona Heights Dog Park
Often visited by residents from all over the city because of its nearness to the Randall Museum, Corona Heights Dog Park offers pets and owners breathtaking view after a steep hillside climb, and a fenced dog area that allows dogs to let loose without a leash(狗链). Dolores Dog Park
The grounds of Dolores Park once served as camps for those who were left homeless by the 1906 earthquake, but now are often visited by crowds of Mission District people. Four-legged friends can also wander about carefree off-leash while making friends with other members of the doggie community.
Pine Lake Dog Park
Famous for its place as a rest stop for hundreds of species of birds to fly to and from warmer climates, Pine Lake Park is also prized by city dogs and their owners for their nice hiking paths, picturesque lake suited for swimming, and off-leash area on the park’s west end that lets dogs run free.
Buena Vista Dog Park
With a history of 146 years, Buena Vista Park is San Francisco’s oldest park. Dogs and owners with plus energy will love burning it on this park’s steep paths and winding staircases. When I was in primary school, sometimes I would meet a girl named Lisa of the same age as me. Lisa was never active, but she was always very sweet and nice. In the 5th grade she came to my class.
She was absent a lot, and one day I had the courage to ask why. She told me she was sick, and she explained she wore a wig (假发) because her medicine made her lose her hair. We left it at that. Anytime Lisa came to class—seldom—I would hang around with her on the playground.
I received much ridicule (嘲笑) from my friends for this because they thought I was ignoring them for Lisa. My family education taught me to be nice, and I felt Lisa's needs were much more important than others I knew.
It had been months since Lisa was in our class, and one day our teacher was crying. She explained Lisa died the day before and would no longer be our classmate. She told us Lisa had fought a battle (斗争) with cancer for years.
I was shocked. Lisa never spoke of her illness as if it could kill her. Well, all these years I have kept Lisa in my mind and heart. When I go through the important events in my life, I think of Lisa.
I've had a strong wish recently to find her mother and father. I'd like to tell them that though they never met me, their daughter had a sweet effect (影响) on my life. I have no idea what her parents' first names are. I write to your column (栏目) and hope you can point me in the right direction.
Lisa was such a lovely girl. Maybe her parents would be comforted by the fact that after all these years they are not the only ones who remember her.
24.Why was the author being laughed at
A.Because she wore a wig to school.
B.Because she always played with Lisa.
C.Because she cried in the classroom.
D.Because she lost her friends because of Lisa.
25.What can we know about the author from the passage
A.She had known Lisa since they were born.
B.She has been to Lisa's house.
C.She has a good family education.
D.She was the first one to know about Lisa's death.
26.What did the author learn from Lisa
A.To keep your illness a secret.
B.To be nice to everyone everywhere.
C.To face challenges in life bravely.
D.To put others' needs above yours.
27.The author wrote this passage mainly to ________.
A.remember a true friend
B.ask for help to find a friend's parents
C.show her concern for a friend
D.tell her experience of fighting cancer
C
What do you usually do to comfort your friends when they are feeling sad or depressed? You probably pat them on the back or shoulder,or maybe you give them a big, warm hug.
We used to think that knowing when and how to comfort others was an ability that only humans have. But scientists have discovered that apes(猩猩)have this ability, too, according to a study published in the Journal of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
Two researchers from Emory University in Atlanta,US,went to an Ape Protection Centre in Congo to study bonobos (倭黑猩猩),which are closely related to humans.
The researchers analyzed the bonobos' reactions after more than 370 cases of stressful situations, such as fights and losing temper, and found that some bonobos rushed to hug those that were screaming after being attacked, just like humans would have done.
However, researchers noted that not all bonobos were capable of comforting others. In the protection centre, many bonobos are orphans whose mothers were killed by hunters. They were found to be more anxious in times of tension and have greater difficulty controlling their own emotions, making them worse at reaching out to help friends in need.
“Orphans, who have not had the benefit of a mother helping them handling their emotions, are much worse at comforting others,”Professor Frans de Waal, one of the researchers, told The Telegraph.“Bonobos with moms were able to curb their negative emotional reactions more quickly. Therefore, they pay more attention to others.”
This pattern mirrors the way that human children have been found to react. Those who seem more capable of handling their own emotions—for example, the ones who can calm themselves down more quickly after upsetting experiences—are usually better at expressing their concerns for others.
28. The 4th paragraph is mainly developed by________.
A. making comparisons B. following time order
C. giving examples D. presenting causes and effects
29. The underlined word“curb”in the 6th paragraph probably means“________”.

A. Orphan bonobos never give a hand to friends.
B. There were 370 bonobos involved in the research.
C. Moms play a significant role in handling kids' emotions.
D. The ability to comfort others is unique to human beings.
31. What's the main purpose of this passage
A. To provide better protection for Apes.
B. To inform readers of a new study.
C. To uncover the mystery of Apes.
D. To compare human behaviors with Apes'
D
Can you imagine a world without music Studies show that public schools across the country are cutting back on music classes to save money. Even worse, some schools have never had music classes to begin with. But without them, students′ academic growth and spiritual health could suffer. In fact, music classes are necessary for all students in schools.
Recent studies Brown University have shown that students who received music education classes were better in math and reading skills than those without music classes. Another study by The College Board found that students taking music and art classes got higher points. Students′ academic success seems to depend on their taking part in music education.
Music programs in public schools also help to add to a student′s sense of pride and self-confidence. Teens today have too many learning tasks. Besides, they have family problems, self-confidence problems, relationship troubles, and choices about smoke and alcohol. All of these can stop academic success, but music education can help. A study by The Texas Commission on Drug and Alcohol Abuse found that students who took part in school music programs were less likely to turn to smoke. Music programs encourage students to work together to produce an excellent performance.
Music crosses language, class and culture. Music allows students from different countries to connect. For example, at a school talent show, a new Japanese student played a piano duet with an American classmate. Two students from different cultures worked as a team with self-confidence and common purpose through music.
The gift of music is priceless. We need to be sure to have necessary music classes for all students. The world is losing its music, and putting music into schools is the first step to get it back.
32. What can we learn about education with music classes
A. It allows schools to make more money.
B. It can cause a lot of academic problems.
C. It will affect the world cultural communication greatly.
D. It does good to students′ academic success and spiritual health.
33. What do the two studies seem to show
A. Students with great success attend music lessons.
B. Music classes play an important role in students′ growth.
C. Not all students could have music classes at school.
D. Students who have music classes do better in all subjects.
34. What does the example in Paragraph 4 mainly suggest
A. Japan has a good relationship with America.
B. Different cultures have different styles of music.
C. Music makes cross-cultural communication possible.
D. Japanese and American students are good at playing the piano.
35. What is the best title for the text
A. The Importance of Music Classes in School B. Music—A Bridge to Understanding
C. Studies on Music Education D. How to Get Music Back

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
One day, my brother and I were alone in our apartment. The reason was that my parents had both gone for a ball party and had left me in charge of everything. I was doing my homework while my younger brother was watching TV. All of a sudden, the doorbell rang. Ding-Dong! Ding-Dong! My younger brother had rushed to the door before I decided to answer the door. We both thought that our parents had come home. As a result, he unlocked the door and opened it.
Outside of the house stood a man who wore a black raincoat and black rubber boots. He looked no different from other people and he said that he was a salesman and asked politely if our mother or father was at home so he could talk with them.
Without any thinking, my brother said, "No." He asked if we would like to buy some comic books, which he was selling. I quickly explained to him that we were not supposed to buy anything without our parents’ permission. However, it seemed that he was not willing to follow my advice and he had an intention to enter our house.
Then, I realized something terrible would happen. As I was about to close the door, he forced his way into our house. He took out a knife and forced me to tie up my brother’s hands with some rope which he took out from his pocket. I tied up his hands but I tied it in a special way so my brother could untie himself as we often did. The man then tied my hands up and locked both of us in the kitchen.
Soon, he went upstairs to search the bedroom for something valuable. I managed to teach my brother to untie the rope on his hands. He then untied me. I rushed to the telephone to call the police, but line was dead.
