课程简介:
Unit13 We’re trying to save the earth.出自人教版九年级全一册, 围绕环境保护的话题,展开环境污染与保护的讨论,引导学生复习初中所学关键句型,重点突破被动语态,现在进行时,现在完成时与情态动词。所执教的班级学生基础较为薄弱,但学习英语兴趣较为浓厚。由于本课时是本单元的第二课时,在本课学习之前,学生已经掌握部分相关的词汇和短语,并已复习过本单元要求的几个语法点(现现在完成时、被动语态和情态动词的使用),对于他们阅读文章具有铺垫作用;其次,学生已升入初三,具备一定的英语阅读能力和阅读技巧。最后,本课时的话题——“保护动物”贴近生活,学生很容易接受,最终达成保护环境就是保护我们自己的情感目标。
本节课是一节阅读课,主题是“保护濒危动物”。3a的阅读是一篇倡议书,其中以鱼翅汤为切入点,介绍了鱼翅汤制作对鲨鱼的迫害和对生态平衡的破坏,引起学生的共鸣,呼吁保护鲨鱼。文章使用了多种时态和句型,需要学生掌握相关语法,理解文章大意并抓住细节,同时复习连词的运用。教学步骤中设计了思维导图,回答问题,填写表格,小组展示与pk朗读,迁移写作等教学活动,且帮助学生在阅读输入后进行有效的输出训练制作倡议书号召保护濒危动物,是对语言点的有效复习与巩固,更是对学生情感目标的落实与升华。

能真正理解保护环境就是保护我们自己,并在日常生活中行动起来。

Step 1:Warming-up
Play a game.
Before the game, the teacher says:

Step 2: Leading in
Show the pictures of some animals and their fur or bones.
While watching, the teacher says:
Do you know these animals ( The teacher shows pictures of the animals)
Are their numbers going up or down

Because of these. ( The teacher shows the pictures of tiger bones and fur, elephant ivory and so on. )

Step 2:Pre-reading
Get students to learn some new words and expressions about sharks.
The teacher tells students:
These are the shark fins( pointing to the fins in the pictures of sharks. Without fins, they can’t swim and they will die soon.
Sharks eat fish and fish eat sea plants. This makes up the make chain. Sharks are at the top of the food chain. Different food chains make up ecosystem.
Some people think that sharks are cruel because they eat people. In fact, there are some misunderstandings about sharks.
Play a video and get students to know the misunderstandings about sharks.
The teacher plays a video and asks students to answer two questions after watching it:
Q1: Are sharks cruel ( No, they are shy.)
Q2:Should we be friendly to sharks and save them
Yes. Sharks are in danger. If we don’t save them, they will disappear soon.
No. Sharks are cruel and dangerous. They even kill people . They are very strong. So there is no need to save them. ( Choose A. )
设计意图:读前活动,通过谈论鲨鱼的相关知识来帮助学生在头脑中构建与话题相关的词汇体系,同时激活对于鲨鱼这个话题的已有认知,纠正其中的错误观点,为即将阅读到的人类因鱼翅而捕食鲨鱼导致鲨鱼数量锐减和破坏生态平衡的内容做好铺垫。
Step 3:While-reading
Skimming
1). Enable students to skim and get one detail about sharks.
The teacher asks:
How many sharks are caught and traded every year
( 70 million. That is 70,000,000, a large number.)
Can you read and find the specific information as soon as possible.

Scanning
1). Get students to scan and match the paragraphs with the main ideas in 2 minutes.

2). After two minutes, ask students to check answers in groups:
