1、David Beckham , a famous soccer star , arrived in Beijing with his teammates yesterday. 昨天大卫·贝克汉姆，一位著名的足球明星，和他的队友到了北京。
⑴famous adj.著名的，出名的 与它有关的短语：
be famous for因...而出名 for“因为”，表原因，后跟说明主语某一特征的名词；
be famous as作为...而出名 as“作为”，表身份，后跟说明主语某一身份的名词；
be famous to对...来说是出名的 to“对于”，引出对象，说明主语在某一对象中出名。
〔试比较〕①长城对全世界的人来说是出名的
②小沈阳作为歌手而出名
③桂林山水甲天下
⑵“到达”的三种译法：① ② ③
其中，arrive in 后跟 （大/小）地点, arrive at后跟 （大/小）地点；
【注意】当“到达”的地点是 词时，一律不要介词。如：
他们昨天一大早就到了机场。
They / / the airport early yesterday morning.
他们昨天一大早就到家了。
They / / home early yesterday morning.
2、The fans are very excited. 球迷们很兴奋。
excited adj. 激动的、兴奋的，用以描写sb的心情，常和sb连用。
exciting adj. 令人激动的、令人兴奋的，用以描述sth对sb产生的心理效应，常和sth连用。 如：He was so (exciting/excited)to read the (exciting/excited) story.

但真遗憾这些运动员们不会呆太久。
⑴It’s too bad that... 真遗憾......
⑵for long是 的简写。
They are leaving for Japan the day after tomorrow.他们打算后天动身去日本。
⑴ 动词leave 的用法：①“离开”，后常跟地点。具体为 A.离开某地
B.动身去某地 C. 离开甲地去乙地
②“留下”，后常跟sb 如：把某人单独留下
③“ 遗忘、忘记”, 后常跟sth ,然后再跟地点。如：我把钥匙忘在家中了。

⑵the day after tomorrow意为“后天”，是一个表将来的时间短语，常和一般将来时连用。请仔细『观察』：They are leaving for Japan the day after tomorrow.这句话，〔思考〕：它的时态是 ，与the day after tomorrow所要求的时态相符吗？【释疑】：这句话中的leave和我们已学过的go、come、arrive、fly、start等动词都是表示位置移动的动词，简称为“位移动词”，它们可以用现在进行时表示将要发生的事。如：When are they starting 他们什么时候出发？
