感恩节是北美洲独有的节日，始于1621年。
1863年，美国总统林肯将它定为国家假日，并且规定每年11月的第四个星期四为美国的感恩节。
感恩节有四天假期。借着长假，很多人都会赶回家庆祝佳节，所以，美国感恩节的热闹程度绝不亚于中国的中秋节。
2021年的感恩节是：2021年11月25日。
1620年，“五月花”号船满载英国国内清教徒到达美洲。移民处在饥寒交迫之中，冬天过去时，移民只剩下50人。这时，心地善良的印第安人给移民送来了生活必需品，教他们狩猎、捕鱼种植玉米、南瓜。在印第安人的帮助下，移民们获得了丰收，在欢庆丰收的日子，按照宗教传统习俗，移民规定了感谢上帝的日子，并邀请他们一同庆祝节日。
美国感恩节由来:
感恩节食物
1.火鸡和南瓜饼,美国人感恩节餐桌上必备的就是火鸡和南瓜饼,就如同中国人的中秋月饼。
2.印第安布丁,感恩节常见的传统食物除了火鸡和南瓜饼
还有玉米面做的印第安布丁。
3.红莓苔子果酱、甜山芋。
4.玉米面包,一种美味的美国点心,也是感恩节必不可少的感恩节美食,英文就叫做bread,其实更像是一种粗粮蛋糕。

In most countries, people usually eat traditional food on special holidays. A special day in the United States is Thanksgiving. There are many reasons for this special day. For some people, it is a time to give thanks for food in the autumn. So it is always on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States. At this time, people also remember the first travelers from England who came to live in America about 500 years ago. These travelers had a long, hard winter, and many of them died. Americans still celebrate this idea of giving thanks by having a big meal at home with their family. The main dish of this meal is almost always turkey, a large bird.
Making a turkey dinner
Here is one way to make turkey for a Thanksgiving dinner.
First, mix together some bread pieces, onions, salt and pepper.
Next, fill the turkey with this bread mix.
Then, put the turkey in a hot oven and cook it for a few hours.
When it is ready, place the turkey on a large plate and cover it with gravy.
Finally, cut the turkey into thin pieces and eat the meat with vegetables like carrots and potatoes.
