1、noise/ voice / sound noise: 常指不悦耳的声音,如噪音、杂音、吵闹声等,可以用a, some, much等词修饰。 如:There was a loud noise outside the classroom.
教室外面一片嘈杂。 voice: 通常指人发出的声音,如说话声、歌声、笑声等。 sound: 泛指自然界的一切声音,如流水声、海浪声等。除此之外还有“听起来像”的意思。(it sounds like/that)The physics teacher had to raise his voice, “Light travels much faster than sound.”物理老师只得提高了声音说,“光的传播速度比声音快得多。”
重点词汇用法
2、look like / be like / take afterlook like: 只用于形容人的外貌。 如:---What does he look like 他长什么样?---He is tall and thin. 他又高又瘦。be like: 侧重于形容人的性格、品质,也可用来形容人的外貌。 如:---What is he like 他是怎样的人?
---He is friendly. 他很友好。take after: 指在气质、性格和外貌等方面与父母相像,用来形容人的气质、性格等。
如: Amy really takes after her mother. 埃米确实很像她母亲。
重点词汇用法
3、especially / specially especially: 意为“尤其;特别;格外”,用于表示某事物相比之下更适用于某一事物或某一情况。它也可以表示“专门;特地”,其后通常接for sb. / sth. 如:It’s hot here especially in summer. 这里很热,尤其是夏天。I bought a present especially for you. 我专门为你买了一份礼物。 specially: 意为“特意地;专门地”,用于表示某事物是为了某一特定目的所做或制作的,其后常接designed, developed或made等过去分词。 如:The kite is specially made for his brother.
这个风筝是专门为他的弟弟制作的。
重点词汇用法
4、arrive / get / reacharrive: 不及物动词,其后接地点名词时,要再地点名词前加介词in或at; 大地点用in, 小地点用at; 接here, there, home等地点副词时省略介词。 如:When will you arrive in America 你将什么时候到达美国?I arrive at school at 7:30 every morning. 我每天早上7:30到达学校。Please arrive home on time. 请准时回家。get: 不及物动词,其后接地点名词时,要再地点名词前加介词to; 接地点副词时省略介词to。如:He will get to Wuhan soon. 他很快将到达武汉。We got there at nine. 我们9点到那儿的。reach : 及物动词,后面直接接地点名词作宾语。 如: They reached the Great Wall in the morning. 他们早上抵达了长城。
