Last Sunday evening, my parents went out for a walk with my sister. But I studied alone at home because would have an English test. Suddenly, I saw bright light in my neighbor’s kitchen .I thought he was cooking, so I went on studying.
Soon, here was a terrible smell in the air and I thought something was wrong. I went out and saw fire coming out of my neighbor’s kitchen. So I shouted “Fire, Fire!” But no one heard or came out.
I ran quickly to my house to call 119, and then I rang my neighbor’s doorbell, knocked at the door, but there was no response. I got into the house through the window and found my neighbor sleeping in his bedroom. I woke him up and we rushed out of the house together.
We tried our best to pour water through the kitchen window, but the fire was too heavy. Luckily, the firemen came and put out the fire quickly. When my parents came back, they found I was dirty and tired. After my neighbour told them the whole story, they were happy and said I was a brave boy.

1970 was the first World Conservation(保护)Year. The United Nations wanted everyone to know the world is in danger. They hoped that governments would act quickly to conserve nature. Here is one example of the problem. At one time there were 1,300 different plants, trees and flowers in Holland but now only 866 remained. The others have been destroyed by modern man and modern technology. We are changing the earth, the air, water and everything that grows and lives. We can't live without these things. If things go on like this, we shall destroy ourselves.

Dear Ms White,
I used to have a lot of problems and I always tried to fix them. I used to do badly in English. To fix it, I read English newspapers and went to the school English corner to improve it. Now I’m quite good at it. I used to be weak. To fix it, I ate right and joined a sports club. Now I’m strong and healthy. I used to be afraid of speaking in public. To fix it, I took part in all kinds of school activities. Now I’m outgoing and everyone likes making friends with me.
But now I have a problem that I can’t fix. I have the ugliest nose in the whole world! It’s not only fat but also big! I want to have a nose job (鼻子整形), but how can I get my parents to agree
Yours,
Ann, 12

Dear Ann,
It sounds like you’re a really proactive (积极主动的) person, always fixing problems. That’s good, but when it comes to things like your nose, you have to stop. It sounds to me that you’re looking for things that are wrong with your body. That’s very dangerous. Also, I’d like to point out that nobody is perfect. A nose doesn’t reflect who you are, so there’s no need for you to feel bad about yourself at all.
In my opinion, as a student, you should pay more attention to your schoolwork instead of your looks.
Best wishes,
Ms White

When he was a teenager, Hunter Adams was very unhappy and he spent many years in a special hospital for people with mental(心理的) health problems.
When he left the hospital, Adams decided to become a doctor, so he went to a medical school in Virginia, the US. But when he was there, he did things in different ways. Dear David,
First, I think you'd better tell your father immediately. It you tell him the truth, he'll be angry with you. But at least you'll prove how honest you are. Then I think you should offer to pay. But you shouldn't use your pocket money. Yes, a camera is expensive, maybe you can't afford it. If you offer to do some jobs around the house, he'll realize that you're truly sorry. Oh, remember to be careful next tune.

Firstly, let's try not to go to school by bus or car.We should walk or ride our bikes instead.Secondly,in order to save trees, why not use used textbooks instead of new ones?Thirdly,we should stop using plastic bags when we go shopping,or napkins when we eat in restaurants. Finally, remember to turn off the lights or taps whenever we're not using them.Of course, that's not all.We should always do the things we can do to help stop polluting the planet.

Dear Winnie,
I’m sorry to learn that Lisa is making it difficult for you to pay attention to your studies. However, I think Lisa talks to you because she likes you. What’s more, she can help you with your studies.
In my opinion, you should get to know her better. Once you become close friends, it will be easier for you to talk to her and tell her how you feel about the problem. I’m sure she will understand you.
I hope you like my suggestion.

Serina

Dear Sally,
I am sorry to hear that you have a lot of worries. You have so much homework that you don’t have hobbies. You have few friends so that you often feel lonely. In addition, your parents are strict with you. It is difficult for you to communicate with them. What’s more, you do not sleep well at night. I can give you some suggestions to help you relieve your worries.
First of all, you should make lists and arrange your homework reasonably. Then, it’s better for you to share your worries with your parents and learn to listen to them. Furthermore, you can try to use warm colours in your room and change your mood. At last, you should do something you like, for example, listening to music.
I hope that my suggestions can help you. Wish you have a good time every day.
Yours,
Alex
