【释·疑难】refuse的用法
refuse作动词, 意为“拒绝”, 其用法如下:
(1)refuse后接动词不定式作宾语, 但是不能接动词的-ing形式作宾语。
(2)后面只接不定式的动词
三希望(hope, wish, want), 两答应(agree, promise);
两要求(ask, demand)莫拒绝(refuse);
设法(manage)学会(learn)做决定(decide);
不要假装(pretend)在选择(choose)。

beat与win的区别
beat “战胜; 打败”, 后面的宾语多是比赛、竞争中的对手或战争中的敌人
win “获胜; 赢得”, 后面的宾语通常是比赛、奖项、游戏、战役、战争、财产等之类的名词(例如: match, prize, game, war等), 不能跟表示人的名词作宾语
