1.引导时间状语从句, 当……的时候,注意与when, while的用法区别。
1)“一边…一边…”
The girl sings as she goes to school.
He looked behind occasionally as he went forward in the forest.偶尔,时不时地
2) “随着…的推移/交替”
As time went on/by, she became more and more beautiful.
As autumn approaches/comes,the leaves turn yellow and soon fall．
As children get older, they become more and more interested in everything.
3)"当…的时"两个短暂行为同时发生.
Just as the flying worm hit her face, she gave a loud cry.
①when"当…的时",指短时间,也指时间段。
When he was at college, he could speak several foreign languages.（时间段）
It was snowing when he arrived at the construction site. 工地 be doing...when....
When the police came, the thieves had run away.（表时刻）完成时
When be doing .....when....
Be about to do ....when....
Be on the point of doing ....when
②while表时间段或一个过程,强调主句与从句同时发生。
Work while you work. Play while you play.
①=when时间状从- My wife kept silent while l was writing.
②n.一会儿 Wait for a while.
③而 (对比) China is a developing country, while America is a developed country.
④尽管,让步状从 While (he was) respected, he was not liked.
⑤只要,条件状从 While there is water, there is life.
2. 引导原因状语从句
because语气最强,as句首,语气较弱,较口语化,As =Since既然,由于,表显而易见原因
As/Since you're not feeling well, you may stay at home.既然well adv adj 身体好 n 水井 good
As he wasn't ready, we went without him.由于（语气弱）
He will succeed because he is in earnest. 认真.(语气强)
Since you are sure of it, he’ll believe you.既然你有把握 （显而易见的原因）自从 完成时
As rain has fallen, the air is cooler. 空气比较清爽.（语气弱）
3. 引导方式状语从句
As =in the way that "像",按照…方式。如:Remember, you must do everything as I do. You must do the exercise as I show you.
比较状语从句as...as...或not so/ as...as...,前一个是副词(副词修形,动,副),后一个是连词
基本结构：as+ adj./ adv. +as.例如：
(1)This film is as interesting as that one.
(2)Your pen writes as smoothly as mine. 流畅.
(3)+ N I cannot afford as high a price as he asked.
否定式：not as/so +adj./ adv. +as.例如：
This dictionary is not as/so useful as you think. 不如你想的那样有用.
若有修饰成分,如twice, three times, half, a quarter等,须置于第一个as前.例如：
Your bag is twice as expensive as mine.你的袋子比我的贵一倍.
虽然,尽管,引导让步状从.常用倒装, adj. /adv. / n.+ as +主语+谓语+主句
Although不倒装, though可倒可不倒,as必须倒。
Although\Though he is a child, he knows a lot. Child as\ though he is, he knows a lot. (child前不用冠词)
(1) Although he is quite old, he still jogs every day. 仍然每天慢跑.
(2) Strange as it may seem, nobody was injured in the accident.尽管令人不可思议，倒装
(3) However hard he may try, he will not achieve his goal.无论他怎样努力 *However引导让步状从,后跟形容/副词,倒装语序.
(4)Tired as they were, they walked on. 倒装
As作关系代词,引导定语从句,
as引导定语从句与其他词连用
①the same...as This is the same book as I read last week.定从
②such...as Such a clever boy as he can learn anything quickly.
He is such a learned professor as/that/who is welcomed by all the students.定从
注He is such a learned professor that he is welcomed by all the students. such…that…结果状从 如此…以至于…
③so+adj.+a/an+n.单+as I am not so strong a man as I was. 没有从前那么强壮 .定从
as引导非限制性定语从句
as引导非限定从可在主句前,也放在主句后,修饰整个句子。
常用句型as we all know, as I expect, as is known to all, as is said, as is reported, as is announced。
She is late, as is often the case.这是常有的事.(先行词 整个主句)
To shut your eyes to facts, as many of you do, is foolish.对事实视而不见--许多人都是如此愚蠢.(先行词 不定式)
As I expected, he got the first place again in this exam. 正如我所预料
As is well known=As everyone knows, Taiwan belongs to China.
必背： As we see/hear， As is mentioned before as has been said before如前所说
as may be imagined这可以想象得出 as has been pointed out正如已指出的 as often happens这种情况常常发生
几个关于as...as的常见句型：
1)as...as possible (比较状语从句)
Please answer my question as soon as possible. They helped the old man as often as possible.
(2)as...as usual/before She looks as pretty as before. 和以前一样
2)as long as
一:和…一样长/长达 I have waited for the news as long as two weeks.
二:只要 As long as you work hard, you can make progress.条件状语从句
3) as far as
一:和…一样远 I walked as far as the railway station yesterday, which made me very tired.
二:就…而言--表观点As far as I am aware/know/concerned, smoking is harmful to our health.
4)as well as
一:和…一样好 Lucy sings as well as Lily.
二:和,也 He, as well as you, likes English. 并列主语-就远原则
as...as常见短语归纳：
as busy as a bee像...一样忙碌 as easy as ABC像ABC一样容易
as soft as butter像...一样软 as rich as a Jew像...一样富裕 as deep as a well像...一样深
as light as a feather像...一样轻 adj.浅色的,轻的, n.灯,光v.点燃,lit up感动
7. 特殊句型
……..as done I am writing to apply for the post of sales manager as advertised in today’s newspaper.
请记住: 只要横线后只有单个的过去分词,而此时需从4个关系代词中选一个,必选as
8. As作介词的用法:
as引导介词短语多作状语,as "作为";少数情况可引起宾语补足语。如:
As a League member, I'll take the lead in everything.带头 (状语) She works as a doctor. (状语)
They have me as one of their own children.(引起宾语补足语)
