back very late, so I drove. You can also get there by subway, but the station is 15 minutes from the centre by
bus, and the buses are really crowded.
The shops don’t open till 10 am except on Saturday when they open at 9:00. They close at 8 o’clock
every day except Friday when they’re open until 9 pm.
The centre has three floors. There are 25 different shops on F1 and F2, and there are seven different

to throw them in. Thank you all for listening! That’s all for today’s programme.

第四部分
第一节
参考范文:
First, honesty is where friendship starts. Friends must trust each other. If we tell lies, our friends will
find out that we aren’t reliable, which may result in losing friends. Second, generosity means sharing. We
can share other valuable things such as studying skills and feelings, etc. Third, understanding makes our
friendship last longer. If friends have quarrels, just put ourselves in our friends’ shoes, and we can understand
them better, thus making up and as a result, our friendship will be stronger and stronger and last forever.
第二节
参考范文:
Paragraph 1:
We walked pretty fast to get the ice cream. Clarissa and I hurried into the shop and we both got
chocolate-flavored ice cream and some other snacks and sat down in one of the rooms. We talked about our
teacher John M. King, and some of our classmates and goals of getting good grades. Over the lunch, Clarissa
suggested that we (should) be best friends and help each other with our homework and daily life. I happily
agreed.
Paragraph 2:
To this day, we are still best friends though I’m in the US and she’s in Canada. We still talk about what’s
going on over the phone. We often talk about the happy days we spent together and I often miss her sweet
smile. I have made a lot of good friends here, but I often think of Clarissa. Clarissa is a friend who you can
tell your deepest secrets. I miss her, but I know I’ll see her again, and when we meet, we will probably make
small talk and little jokes for a whole day as if I never left.

第一节(共 15 小题;每小题 2.5 分,满分 37.5 分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的 A、B、C、D 四个选项中选出最佳选项。
A
I think a close friend is someone you get on well with, who helps you when you have problems,
who gives you advice, and who always has time for you. I didn’t use to have many close friends
when I was at school because I was very shy, but now I have several. They are all women. I think
it’s difficult to have a close friend of the opposite sex(异性).
—— Marie
I think a close friend is someone who you’ve known for a long time, and who you still get on
with. They have similar hobbies to you so you can do things together. I’ve got three close friends
who I was at middle school with and we often go out together (without our parents of course). We
often go camping, play football, or walk outside in the open air.
—— David
I’m not sure how to answer the question because I don’t really have any close friends. I know
a lot of people but mainly through work, and the social occasions(场合) when we meet are business
dinners, things like that. I think that if you come from a really close family, friends are a bit
unnecessary. I like spending my free time with my family.
—— Richard
For me close friends are the people you spend your free time with. I go out at weekends with
a group of people, and they are all my close friends. They’re also people who live near me. I don’t
think you can have close friends at a distance because you need to be able to see each other often.
But I don’t think you need to be doing the same things. I mean I’m at school but none of my friends
are.
——Anna
21. Who thinks it’s difficult for women and men to be close friends
A. Marie. B. David. - C. Richard. D. Anna.
22.What does Richard say about friends
A. They need to have much in common. B. They’re less important than family.
高中英语 必修第一册 - 2 - / 8
C. They must work in the same place. D. They come from social occasions.
23.What do we know about Anna’s friends
A. They are all women. B. They all do the same things.
C. They do not live far away. D. They are all college students.
B
I’d like to share a story that happened when I was four. I remember it clearly. Our loving family
dog was nearing the end of his life. My father picked him up and put him in a little bed we had made
for him. Our dog, my companion, whom we had cared for, bit my father when he tried to help him.
How could he Why I couldn’t understand it. I didn’t like him anymore.
I hadn’t thought about that story for a long time but something that happened last week brought
it back to me. I went to speak with a friend. When I knocked on the door, I met an angry look and a
few harsh(尖刻的) words. When the door was closed in my face, I stood there shocked, and in a
rush, I was reminded of my dog biting my father 20 years ago or so. What brought that story back
was that same feeling of betrayal(背叛).
Both stories taught me something the next day. You see, when I got up in the morning and was
told my dog had died, it became clear to me that he must have been in great pain. For him to have
bitten a family member, he could not have been himself. Much the same for the other story when I
learned that my friend’s wife had just left him.
We are all beings of our environments, our opinions and feelings. And all of those things can
cause you to say and do things that can’t be understood by those who are not in the same situation
with you.
If you meet someone either behaving out of character or acting in a way that doesn’t seem to
fit the situation, put out your hand and be patient when you think it is least possible for him to do
so. You may turn around a story that has a sad ending simply by your actions.

27. What’s the author’s advice to us

A mother goat is able to pick out her own baby from its voice alone by the time the kid is just
five days old.
Researchers from University of London played kids’ bleats to female goats and studied their
responses. They were surprised to find that the animals were able to pick out their own kids’ voices.
“A mother and the kid rely a lot on smell to recognize one another and, in the wild, during the
first week of their lives, the animals hide in grass and don’t call much. It’s a strategy they use to
avoid enemies,” Dr. Elodie Brief0er, who led the research, explained to BBC News. “The mother

calls to the kids when she wants them to come and feed, so we expected that kids would recognize
the mothers’ voices.” In fact, this was the case for deer, which also use this hiding strategy, although
they do not belong to the same family of species as goats.
She and her team recorded and played back young kids’ calls to the female goats and recorded
their responses. She explained, “Even when the calls came from kids that are five to six days old,
we could see the mothers responding more to the voices of their own babies.” Hearing the voice of
their own kids, the females would look towards the speaker that the sound was coming from, moving
around and calling in response.
The scientists say that understanding how goats behave and communicate is very important.
“This helps us understand just how smart these animals are,” said Dr. Briefer. “Farmers might be
able to change their way to raise goats considering this natural behaviour.”

30.In the experiment, what does a mother goat do when hearing her kids’ voice
A. Making voice in response. B. Jumping over and over.
C. Hiding herself somewhere. D. Behaving just as usual.
31.The passage is mainly written for ________ to read.
A. teachers B. writers

Life affects friendships. As we grow, marry, fight in wars, move across the country or change
jobs, old friendships fall away and new ones form. As long as we live, the things around us change,
and as long as things change, friendships are affected.
When we were children, we had best friends. No matter what happened we were still friends.
We live our lives, however, and do what life calls for us to do, and as we get older, memories fade,
faces blur(变得模糊), and even friends’ names from childhood are forgotten.
Do you have a question about friendship Do you wonder what to do with a friend who is no
longer friendly Perhaps you will see that you can’t control others. If some people want to be your
friends, it is their choice. All you can do is treat them well and do the best for them when you are
with them. Then you wish them well when they leave.
You can talk to old timers and they will tell you that life is full of incredible(难以置信的) joy
and incredible sorrow, and that what bothers you today will one day become a memory and the pain
will be gone. Seniors might tell you that you will learn more as you get older. They will tell you that
friendships come and friendships go. Sometimes when they go it will hurt you, but you will be okay
with it. It’s the way life works, after all.
32. According to the text, what can we learn about friendship
A. Friendship cannot be easily affected by one’s family.
B. Friends are always around us and will never go away.
C. Friends in childhood are sometimes forgotten by us.
D. Friends in childhood are the best no matter what happens.
33. In the author’s opinion, what should we do with friends who are no longer friendly

第二节 读后续写(满分 25 分)
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
I just moved to the US, leaving all of my friends in Canada. I don’t know what is to come at
the high school I will be attending soon. I am more focused on the yearbook than the future. I come
across one of the notes — Clarissa left there for me. As I read what she left for me from Grade 7,
tears escape my eyes and run across my cheeks.
I still remember the first day of Grade 7. Though confused of where to go, I found my way. I
walked as slow as a turtle entering the room, hoping to see a friendly face. I scanned the room and
I saw Clarissa, and a couple other girls sitting at the round table. Clarissa waved at me and said,
“Hey, come sit with us.” I walked over to the blue chairs. As I sat down the chair was icy cold. I
started the conversation saying, “I honestly still feel like I’m in Grade 6.” Clarissa replied, “Same
here!” We talked for a little bit until the teacher John M. King walked in with a smile and said,
“Hello class!” We knew right there reality started to begin the future. I was filled with relief that I
found some one I could talk to and could become best friends.
As the teacher finished up talking about what is going to happen for the first couple of days,
Clarissa said, “How do we even get to our second period class !” Our teacher explained how to get
there. The bell rang, Clarissa and I shared the same nervous look. We got up slowly, hoping someone
will lead the way. Clarissa grabbed my arm and we walked out together to the next class. I whispered,
“Do you know where to go ” She said, “Not a clue, but we will find it together.” She said with a
confident smile.
After the first morning of Grade 7, Clarissa and I were starving. We made jokes about each
other eating a whole cow. I asked her, “Do you want to have lunch together ” She said, “Yeah, do
you want to eat ice cream and pretzels ” I said, “Sure!” I didn’t actually care where we went, as
long as there was food.
