Post-writing
My favorite song changes depending on how I feel that day. Usually I like songs that have great lyrics or rhythm.
When I’m down and tired, I prefer songs which can cheer me up. Songs like Big Big World are my first choices because they are delightful and easy to follow. The lyrics may be simple, but very cheerful, and the rhythm, too. When I sing along with them, I feel refreshed and relaxed. If I’m stressed out or uneasy, I love to listen to songs that are gentle and quiet. Our Canon in D is my favorite, which is performed by two people, a guitarist and a singer. The guitar player is great, the lyrics are comforting and the singer sings perfectly. After listening to it, I’ll calm down and gain my strength again.
Life without songs will be empty and meaningless. If you feel like listening to something, choose a song that you like best.
My favorite movie
The film Nezha was on show in Chinese cinemas on June 26, 2019. It was a dark horse this summer. The director of it is Yang Yu. He also goes by the name of jiaozi or dumpling in English. The film is based on the Chinese novel Fengshen Yanyi. In the novel, Nezha is born during the Shang dynasty and is famous for fighting against the Dragon King. As the third son of Li Jing, he never pleases his father and at last kills himself. “I wanted to change the telling of the story. This film is about a boy who fights against unfair destiny,” says Yang. In the film, Nezha is born with a “cursed (被诅咒的) destiny”. The villagers treat him unfairly. They think the naughty but good-hearted child will grow up to be a demon. But Nezha believes his destiny is not predetermined and that he can choose to be a demon or a god.
