Step 1. Before-reading 1.Enjoy a song《Friends》 2.Free talk: Who’s your friend in this class Sing the song Talk about their friends PPT, video Make students relax. Arouse their interests in learning English. Lay a foundation for the new lesson.
Step 2. While-reading (Task 1) Introduce the background information. Ask students to watch the cartoon and try to answer the questions. a. What’s Rabbit’s trouble b. Do her friends help her Know the background with some pictures Watch the video and answer the questions PPT, video, pictures Lead students to have a general idea of the story.
Step 2. While-reading (Task 2) Ask Ss to read picture 1 to 4 silently and carefully, then find the answers. a.Who are they B. Do they succeed Ss read pic.1 to 4 and find the answers of the two questions PPT Lead students to know the details about the story. Lay a foundation for the following study.
Step 2. While-reading (Task 3) Please read picture 5,6 quickly, then underline the answers. a. Who comes at last b. How did they do it Ss read pic.5 and 6 ,then underline the answers of the two questions PPT Lead students to know more details about the story. Arouse students’ love for friends and experience union is strength.
Step 2. While-reading (Task 4) lead students to recorder the sentences about the story 2. Ask students to listen and repeat and act. 3.Retell the story. Ss retell the story with the help of the teacher. Listen and repeat Read the stories PPT, video, pictures Students can understand the contents of the story very well by recording the sentences. Practice reading and imitate the pronunciation and intonation.
Step 3. Post-reading Imagine what will happen to the rabbit Emotional teaching: Ask students what they learn from the story. Can you give the title for the story Ss act the story out Ss talk about: what will happen to Rabbit What will she say to friends Ss will talk about the title of the story.
