1. 资源与建议
1).本主题是科学家与科学研究,本主题介绍了英国著名医生John Snow是如何通过考察、分析、探究的科学方法,发现“霍乱”成因并进行控制该传染病。文本属于科学报告,学习后能够从中理解John Snow的科研步骤,感悟科学家周密观察、勇于探索、认真分析、无私奉献的科学精神。
2).本主题学习大致按照以下流程开展:看视频引入有关“霍乱”的话题并预测成因→略读文本概括文本大意,梳理文本结构→细读进一步了解文本细节(John Snow的科研过程)→重述John Snow发现“霍乱”成因的过程→体会John Snow优秀的科学精神。
3).教学重难点:运用所学语言复述大意和对科学家的特征合理地表达个人观点。
2. 前备知识
1).预习时间:20分钟。
2).预习内容:教材P91-92词汇;课前上网查找有关霍乱知识的文章或找医生了解什么是霍乱。

1. Watch a video clip about cholera and think how serious it was.
2. Guess what is the cause of cholera.
Step 2 Reading (18 mins)
