Nowadays many students choose to get a further education in other countries. If you want to study abroad, there’s just one problem. You need foreign language skills, and usually you have only a few months to learn. It may be very difficult for you to learn a language well in such a short time, but according to language experts(专家), you can learn some simple communication skills in weeks. Here are some ways to help you master(掌握)a foreign language quickly.
Vocabulary books and online lessons can be very useful when you start a new language study, because they can give you the confidence to have conversations with local speakers. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Just speak and you will do better.
Talk with language experts or local speakers often. They can correct your pronunciation(发音)and grammar. Remember to use the language first and study the grammar later. The more you communicate with them, the better you will speak.
Try to read children’s books in a foreign language. It will help you easily understand some useful sentences.

Word linking 连读
辅音+元音:在同一意群里,如前一单词以辅音结尾,后一单词以元音开头,即可把这两个单词连起来读,叫做“连读”。
When we say a word ending in a consonant sound before a word starting with a vowel sound, we often move the final sound in the first word to the beginning of the second word.

要使说话流利,除了学会弱读和失去爆破,还需掌握连读这种朗读技巧。
连读就是把第一个词词尾的音和第二个词词首的音连起来读。连读用符号“ ” 来表示。如:
speak on a topic, in an hour 等。

注意:最常见的连读情况是“辅音+元音”的连读,即:如果前一个词以辅音结尾,后一个词以元音开头,这两个音可以连起来读。如:It is a book.
