教学反思(Period 2)
Unit8的第二课时,主要是训练学生的听说能力。本课时以就餐为主要的话题铺开,涵括了与就餐相关的词汇,短语和句型等内容。努力创设一个与学生实际生活相近的情景,使他们围绕话题进行听说能力的训练。
基于第一课时有趣的任务型活动中教学,学生对本单元的学习保持一种极高的兴趣和期待,所以在第二课时的设计中,延续了第一课时的部分活动,如Guessing Game, Daily Report等,使学生能够以一种轻松熟悉的活动来进入第二课时的部分拓展学习。在词汇教学部分,学生能够很好地回忆起之前关于食物的单词,并且能够在活动中,准确迅速地把相关的食物进行分类学习,如drinks, meat, main food, vegetables等,有利于学生的单词巩固和部分新单词的学习。
在句型操练部分,要融合词汇的练习,大部分学生能够根据自己的实际情况把各自的喜恶食物带入句型中进行操练,有的自行练习,有的找到partner进行会话练习,有利于学生达到“Learning by using”的学习目的。在对话练习中,老师要特别留意那些基础薄弱的学生,多鼓励和引导他们开口说英语,树立他们学习英语的自信心。
本课时的难点在于中考听说考试模式的导入和开展。围绕就餐这一主题,分别在课前的教学设计中,加入了与就餐相关的听力、口语练习题,以中考英语听说考试的模式进行设计活动。学生掌握较好的是关于就餐的听力练习,能够准确把握住对话中的信息要点进行作答。而口语中的短文朗读部分,我将听力二的对话信息改编设计成为一篇小短文,目的在于即可巩固学生在刚才听力中对信息的全面把握,也为他们的朗读练习扫清部分障碍,达到前后呼应的目的。所以,学生在朗读时表现的状态较好,但是学生朗读如果要达到清晰、流利的程度,还得要多加训练。而在情景对话中,就有部分学生无法把握住信息点进行作答,基础较好的同学基本可以运用本单元所涉及到就餐的词汇和句型进行回答,但部分基础较弱的学生则表示看不懂问题,自然就无法提取有效的信息作答。所以,只有掌握相关的词汇和句型才能够在这部分中脱颖而出。最后的口头作文部分,提供了Jack’s family dinner的四幅图片。指导学生根据图片上的情况,用when, where, how, what kind of food等进行思考组织语言,关注图中的关键点。由于这部分的口头作文需要学生具备较高的语言综合运用能力,所以,首先要求学生掌握的是基本的与就餐相关的知识点,这样才能够使他们在实际运用中能够准确灵活地使用英语。
另外,在课堂实施教学的过程中,要注意树立学生学习英语的自信心和对英语的兴趣,一些非智力因素的发展对教学的影响是相当大的。

人教版七下Unit 8单元是一个与实际生活十分贴近的话题,所以在教学设计中,我们都是尽量设计与实际相近的情景教学任务,让学生能够运用学到的点餐、就餐的词汇和句型进行会话。并且,根据中山2012年中考听说改革的模式,设计出与考试相关的题型,提高学生的应考能力。所以,在整个单元的教学中,基本实现原有的各项教学目标,同时,也对学生的听说读写综合能力进行了系统的训练。在教学实施过程中,根据教学反思,总结我们的教学不足之处,特提出的若干项教学建议如下:
词汇教学部分:
1. 开发学生动手动脑主动学习词汇的能力:现在的网络信息发达,在课前预习中,老师可以列举本单元教学的几类词汇,鼓励学生预习完本单元的词汇后,通过网络搜索,师生请教等方式进行拓展词汇收集,可以以小组合作的方式进行,然后进行分类归纳,比如,可以分为healthy food and unhealthy food, 也可以进一步分化为healthy food中的main food, vegetables, meat, drinks等,既能够保持学生学习词汇的兴趣,也能够拓展学生的词汇量,更重要是培养他们概括总结的能力。
2. 善用Guessing Game进行词汇巩固: 词汇是学生掌握语言的基本要素,如何使词汇教学即有趣又有效,是我们一直考虑的方向。图片直观教学有利于吸引学生的注意力,而在词汇复习和巩固阶段,我们采取了连贯的Guessing Game的模式进行,使得学生的兴趣和注意力大大提高,而且收到较好的教学效果。
3. 广告猜词的教学设计是本单元的亮点:汤奇老师在教学设计中,运用了大量有关食物的广告,让学生根据广告描述进行猜出与食物有关的单词,学生在这部分的表现特别好,因为在日常生活中,广告是学生耳濡目染的熟悉事物,将它们运用到本单元中,学生对它们的印象更加深刻,并且在以后的生活中,若出现相关的广告,学生也能马上联想到课堂中学到的知识。这部分的设计使得课堂中的词汇教学呈现出一种生活化、生动化的教学效果。
目标句型教学:
在句型教学中,主要运用了任务型教学法,设计不同的交际情景,让学生在完成各项活动中掌握本单元的目标语言。比如,设计出一个餐厅点餐、就餐的情景,让学生角色扮演服务生和顾客,分角色进行对话练习,是学生能够产生代入感,更好地体会真实情景中的会话感受。
听力教学:
积极整合课本的听力教学资源:对于本单元出现的听力材料,我们进行了二次整合,一是重新设计听力题型,由于课文中的部分听力练习模式出现过难或过易的情况,我们重新部分设计了与点餐、就餐相关话题的听力题,有些是原文材料整合,有些是教师自己编写的对话旋转,使之更具有针对性地训练学生的听力能力,设计的题型均与中考接轨。二是师生或生生录音。对于新增添的对话材料,我们采用了师生或生生对话录音的形式,使得学生在录制听力材料的过程中,能够培养开口说英语的自信心,并且经过观察,学生越是参与到录音中,他们的学习积极性就越高,达到一种良性的循环。
口语训练部分:
1. Daily Report的形式要多样化:一是我们可以采用传统的让学生站在讲台上进行Daily Report,有助于锻炼学生的胆量;二是可以采取录像录制的方式,把每天的Daily Report用视频的方式在课堂中播放,然后设计一些和Daily Report有关的题目,让学生细心听报告,然后完成题目,这种方式可以很好地兼顾到听说两种能力训练的同时进行。
2. 有效渗透中考英语口语考试的题型,培养和训练学生良好的应考能力。2012年中考英语的听说改革和期末进行的七、八年级的听说考试,都意味着听说训练要进入到一个三年循环的模式,只要从七年级开始抓起,学生三年后的口语能力一定取得质的飞跃。
关注学生非智力因素对英语教学的影响:
首先,要通过各种活动来刺激和保持学生对学习英语的兴趣和积极性。其次,善于发掘十几岁学生增强好胜的心理来开展竞赛活动,使他们在比赛中不甘落后的精神对英语学习产生良好的影响。再次,课堂教学中,要注意帮助学生树立学习英语的信心,特别对于不同层次学的学生要给予不同的鼓励,使得每个学生都有“我要学英语”的想法,以便以后能自信地运用英语交往。

——英国家庭的餐桌教育

英国家庭素有把餐桌(dinner table)当成课堂的传统(tradition)。从孩子上餐桌的第一天起,父母们就开始有意识地(consciously)对孩子进行进餐教育(education)了。
在英国,家长们鼓励(encourage)幼儿自己进食(eat by themselves)。绝大多数英国父母认为,幼儿想自己进食,标志着他们对人格独立的向往(longing for independence),应予以鼓励。
英国人普遍认为,一个人偏食、挑食的坏习惯(habit)多是幼儿时期父母的迁就造成的。他们还认为,餐桌上对孩子的迁就也是对孩子的一种放纵,不仅影响孩子摄入全面、充分的营养(nutrition),而且还会使孩子养成任性(unruliness)、自私(selfishness)、傲慢自大(arrogance)等性格(character)。
绝大多数的英国人要求孩子自己清理(clean)弄脏的桌面。3岁以上的孩子进餐时不慎弄脏了桌面,父母立即会教孩子向他人道歉(apologize),并立即找来抹布(dishcloth),让孩子自行清理。大多数的英国父母认为,此举一则可以帮助孩子学会关心他人(care about others),二则可以帮助孩子学会礼貌待人(be polite)。
