Step 2 Prediction
Look at the title and the pictures of the text, raise questions based on the title, and guess what the passage is going to tell us. （DO1）
Step 3 Reading
Activity 1: Read for steps of carrying out a scientific research
Read the text carefully, find the answers to the questions of each paragraph and match the steps of carrying out a scientific research with each paragraph. Prepare to share your answers（DO2）

Write down the steps of how you will find the “killer”-- the cause of the problem, with your classmates. Prepare to give the report in the class（PO2）
On May 12, 2018, a warm spring day, the Environmental Protection Agency of Tongxiang received a call reporting that hundreds of kilograms of fish died and floated on the campus river in Maodun High School (no factories around)
Possible causes of dead fish:
① water temperature ② low dissolved oxygen in the water (低溶解氧) ③ poison
