Step I:Lead-in To help the students recognize the part of our body and get them to know what they are going to learn. Give a picture of a girl and point out the names of the body parts. E Encourage the students to name the body parts according to what they know.
Step II: Pre-listening To help the students describe others’ looks. Concluding one’s height, build, hair, wearing and other sides. Let students talk about my appearance and some pop stars’ appearances. Talk about appearances according to the directions the teacher gives and then make a conclusion together.
Step III: Listening To teach the students to grasp the main information of describing a person. While listening: Listen and choose Listen and fillPost listening: listen and circle Conclude the usage of “is” “has” The students listen and finish the tasks the teacher gives and conclude the usage of “is” “has”.
Step IV:Speaking Train the students’ ability of describing persons’ looks. According to the pictures of their own teachers and classmates, help them how to describe the persons around them. 1. Give them descriptions of their own teachers and let them guess who the teachers are.2. introduce the appearance of the teacher’s friend and let them guess who she is.3. ask one student to describe the appearance of another student in their class, then ask the others to guess who he/she is. Guess the names of their teachers and learn how to describe a person from different sides; Use what they learned in this class to describe a classmate, and ask other classmates to guess what he/she is describing.
Step V: Homework To consolidate what they learned in this class and put it into daily communication. To describe one of the friends to others and write it down as a compositon. Follow the teacher’s instructions, and write the passage.
