Read the following short text and find out the answer: Why did paintings in this period look so hazy(朦胧的)?
The impressionists were eager to show how changes and lights fell on objects at different times of day. However, because natural light shadow so quickly, the impressionists had to paint quickly. Their paintings were not as detailed as those of earlier painters. Although the photography was invented later, the impressionism painting was still popular at that time because the photographs’ color were cold, black and white while the paintings were full of light, shadow, color and life.
