Step 1 Revision
Retell the passage in 2b with the help of the passage structure.

Step 2 Presentation
Work on 3a
1. Read the invitation in 3a and answer the questions.
2. Learn some language points.
(1) I would like to invite you to the opening of our new library at No. 9 High School. 我想要邀请您参加第九中学新图书馆的落成典礼。
①would like (sb.) to do sth. 想要某人干某事
e.g. My mother would like me to finish homework on time. 我妈妈想要我按时完成家庭作业。
②invite sb. to... 邀请某人参加……
e.g. He invites me to his birthday party. 他邀请我参加他的生日聚会。
【拓展】invite sb. to do sth. 邀请某人干某事
e.g. He invites me to come to his birthday party. 他邀请我去他的生日聚会。
2. The opening will be on the morning of Wednesday, January 8th at 9:00. 典礼将于1月8日,周三上午9点举行。
on the morning of Wednesday, January 8th在1月8日,周三上午
in the morning / afternoon / evening在早上/下午/晚上, 但如果有星期,具体的日期或形容词修饰时,in要换成on。
e.g. on Sunday morning在星期天早上
on the evening of December 24th在12月24日的晚上
on a warm afternoon在一个温暖的下午

Write an invitation to a party or any other event. Reply to their partners’ invitations. If they turn down the invitation, give a good reason.
