三、阅读理解
Dangerous as they are, extreme sports remain appealing among many Australian young people! Camp Extreme is the perfect test of your heart.
Kite Surfing
It's the exciting mixture of kite, board and waves. The idea of using a kite to accelerate speed seems like a new challenge, yet the art of kite flying dates back to the 13th century China when it was used as a simple means of transport.
Catch a wind and you're moving—up, down and across the surf. “It's always exciting. You'd jump 5 feet or 35 feet. You never know if you're going to go up in the air, and your heart is just going boom, boom, boom.”
Coasteering
It is by far the best activity and the event that everyone is still talking about. This is exploring the coastline without worrying about a coastal path or finding a rocky bay blocking your route. You climb, dive and swim from one place to another. With coasteering, you don't have to be able to swim as the wet suit and buoyancy (浮力) aid will keep you floating when you are in the water.
Sky Diving
Traditional parachuting (跳伞) doesn't sound risky enough. So now sky diving is the name for jumping from a plane and listening to your heart beating heavily as you move fast towards earth before you open your parachute at the last moment.
Mountain Biking
It's been around so long that bikers are no longer satisfied with just going up and down a mountain. Mountain biking is a sport which consists of riding bicycles off road, often over rough land, using specially adapted mountain bikes. Mountain bikes share similarities with other bikes, but include features designed to improve strength and performance in rough areas.

四、概要写作
阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要。
In New York City public schools, 176 different languages are spoken among the more than 1 million students. For 160,000 children, English is not their first language. New York's Department of Education makes learning better for these students by providing dual-language programs. Students are taught in two languages, English and another one, like Chinese or Russian. Math, social studies, science and all other regular courses are taught in both languages. And they learn about the culture of the other country.
Milady Baez is Deputy Chancellor(副局长)of English Language Learners and Student Support. She says these dual-language programs will help children succeed in the future. “The jobs of the future require that our students know more than one language. They are going to be traveling abroad, or they are going to be communicating with people from all over the world. This will open doors for them.”
Shuya Zhang teaches a dual-language class. She says the program helps children get ready to work with people in other countries. “Nowadays, many countries started economic relationships with China. Lots of companies have been moved to China. They need people with bilingual(会说两种语言的) skills.”
Middle school students might not have jobs on their minds yet. For Kequing Jaing, she likes keeping up her first language, Mandarin. “It makes me feel that I am home because I can speak in Chinese, learn in Chinese, while learning in English. So it makes me feel better and makes me understand more about the task I'm learning.” Another student, Anastasia Hudikova, came to the United States when she was 2 years old. She says the Russian-English program keeps her connected to her heritage(传统) and her parents happy. “They're really happy about the program. They are really happy that I can preserve my culture and my language, and that I can speak it fluently in school.”
The New York schools also offer dual-language programs in seven other languages: Arabic, French, Haitian Creole, Hebrew, Korean, Polish and Spanish. There are plans to add even more languages in the future.

3.competitive 考查形容词。句意:毕业生不得不在竞争激烈的市场上奋力争取找到工作。本空修饰名词market,故应用形容词。

3.D 推理判断题。根据倒数第二段中的Mountain biking is a sport which consists of riding bicycles off road, often over rough land, using specially adapted mountain bikes.可知,山地自行车运动,用的是特制的越野自行车,走在崎岖的路上。故D项(山地自行车运动比普通的自行车运动需要更多的技能)符合题意。
