A
One day, while I was waiting for my father, I saw a little boy, around two years old, running freely on the grass as his mother watched from a short distance. The boy had a big smile on his face as if he had just been set free from some sort of prison (监狱). The boy would then fall to the grass, get up, without looking back at his mother, run as fast as he could, again, still with a smile on his face, as if nothing had happened. At that moment, I thought to myself, “Why aren’t most adults this way ” Most adults, when they fall down, make a big deal out of it and don’t even make a second attempt. They would be so embarrassed that they would not try again if someone saw them fall. Or, because they fall, they would find a good excuse for themselves that they’re not fit for it. They would end up being too afraid to attempt again for fear of failure (失败). However, with Kids, when they fall down, they don’t consider their falling down as a failure, instead, they treat it as a learning experience. They try again and again until they succeed. The answer must be that they have not connected “failing down” with the word “failure”. What’s more, they probably think to themselves that it’s quite okay to fall down and that it’s not wrong to do so. In other words, they allow themselves to make mistakes, so they remain energetic. I was deeply impressed by the boy's persistence (坚持不懈), and the manner in which he did.

What can be both red or green, round or sharp, big or small, and more importantly, loved or hated by someone Yes, the answer is chilies (辣椒).
Many of us in China enjoy adding chilies to our food, but did you know that this spicy (辣 的) vegetable could also be dangerous A 34-year-old US man recently ended up in hospital after eating a Carolina Reaper, the spiciest chili people have known so far. After taking just a single bite of one, the man suffered from serious headaches in the following days, reported BBC News.
In fact, eating spicy food causes stomachache and headache. But if chilies are harmful, why do people like to eat this vegetable So what makes people love chilies so much The human body is influenced by natural chemicals that produce “a sense of happiness”, noted BBC News.
And chilies do good to people in another way. Scientists found that the death rate of those who eat spicy food once or twice a week is 10 percent lower than those who eat it less than once a week. The death rate is 14 percent lower for those who eat spicy food six to seven times a week. This encourages people to eat more spicy food to improve health and bring less death risk at an early age. Sometimes people come into your life and you know at once that they were sure to be there. They serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help find out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be: your classmate, neighbor, teacher, long-lost friend or even a real stranger. But you know that every moment they will affect your life in some serious way.
Sometimes things happen to you. At the time they may seem terrible, painful and unfair. But later you realize that without getting over those difficulties you would have never realized your further ability and strength. Everything happens for a reason and nothing happens by chance or with good or bad luck.
The people you meet affect your life, and the successes and failure you experience, create who you are. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.
Enjoy every day even every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people you have never talked to before, and really listen. You should set your sights high, hold your head up, tell yourself you are a great one and believe in yourself.
You can make your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it.

第五节 信息摘录
Kinney is the writer and cartoonist behind the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid ( 《小屁孩日记》 ) series. It tells the story of Greg Heffley, a middle school student. The US writer published seven Wimpy Kid books between 2007 and 2012, selling more than 8 million copies each book in America. In addition to the books, there have been three movies. The eighth book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck came out on Nov 5, 2013.
One reason kids love Kinney’s books is the main character, Greg Heffley. Greg is smart but naughty. He has many interesting ideas. But he always makes things in a mess . The books don’t teach you what you should do. But they inspire you with funny jokes.
In fact, Kinney’s main interest at university was cartoon drawing. “I really wanted to be a newspaper cartoonist, but nobody liked my work,” Kinney told Los Ang eles Times.
So he took jobs doing newspaper, software and game production and design. In early 1998, he wanted to make a kid’s diary. This was not entirely new.But Kinney’s simple yet vivid drawings gave the idea a new look.
He refined(改善) characters and created jokes, Kinney sold the manuscript that became the Wimpy Kid series in 2006.
“I made mistakes. I wasn’t that smart. I wasn’t that brave,” Kinney recalled from his own middle school years. Kinney gives Greg these flaws (缺陷 ), he said, so children can learn from Greg’s mistakes.
