那么，你会用语言对比过去和现在的生活吗？
想做比较就会用到对比的手法，就是把具有明显差异、矛盾和对立的双方安排在一起，进行对照比较的表现手法。对比手法是把对立的意思或事物、或把事物的两个方面放在一起作比较，让读者在比较中分清好坏、辨别是非。
请看下面一段文字：

change like Proteus(变幻莫测)
在希腊神话中，普鲁斯特(Proteus)是海神波塞冬的儿子，生来就是绝顶的预言家，绰号为“海上老人(the old man of the sea)”。他常常替父亲看守海豹。每天中午，他从海面中出来，混在海豹群中睡觉。这时候如果有人捉住他，他就会告诉这个人所请求的预言。希腊史诗《奥德赛》上面说，特洛伊战争后，斯巴达国王在返国途中，被吹到一个荒岛上，幸亏抓住了普鲁斯特，请他指引正确的航线才顺利回国。后来，奥德赛在外漂泊十年，他的儿子也是靠着普鲁斯特的预言，才能父子团圆。
上天为了避免普鲁斯特泄露天机，便赋予他神力，让他可以随时变化身形，不易被人捉住。因此单词Proteus(普鲁斯特)就被用来表示 “善变的人、反复无常的人”，习语change like Proteus(像普鲁斯特那样善变)则被用来形容人的善变。
例如：The weather in the city always changes like Proteus. 这个城市的天气总是变幻莫测，难以捉摸。
学习英语七大黄金准则
★The way to learn a language is to practice speaking it as often as possible.
学习一门语言的方法就是要尽量多地练习说。
★It’s necessary to dill as much as possible, and the more you apply it in real situations, the more natural it will become. 反复操练是非常必要的，你越多的将所学到的东西运用到实际生活中，他们就变的越自然。

★Keep a small English dictionary with you at all time.When you see a new word, look it up. Think about the word— use it. 随身携带一本小英文字典，当你看到一个新词时就去查阅它，思考这个词——然后学着去用它。
★When you see something, think of the English word of it; then think about the word in a sentence. 看到某事时，想想它的英文单词；然后把它用到句子中去。
★When you learn a new verb, learn its various forms.
学习一个动词的时候，要学习它的各种形态。
一个陌生女孩的来信
某个星期一的早上，Sainsbury’s超市的经理收到一封信，上面写着：
“Dear Sainsbury’s: Why do you call tiger bread ‘tiger bread’ It should be giraffe bread. From Lily Robinson.(3岁半)”
你猜这位经理是怎么做的？他给3岁的Lily写了回信，夸她眼光锐利，说面包的花纹确实不像老虎纹而像长颈鹿纹。事情还没完，现在Sainsbury’s超市不卖老虎面包改卖长颈鹿面包了。
这件事给我们的启示是：不要失去儿时那双看世界的眼睛；“The Customer IS Always Right.”的口号不重要，一个行动就能证明顾客是不是上帝。
