Cody is a popular fitness coach. He gives personal fitness classes to a dozen people every Monday
afternoon, and lectures on how to keep a healthy lifestyle every other week. People who don’t know
Cody may think that he’s always been healthy and fit, but in fact, he has only been working at the gym
for six months. During his college years, Cody often ate junk food and did no exercise at all. After
college, he realized that he couldn’t go on like that any longer, so he began to try to lose weight by
eating less. It did have some effect at first, and he lost five pounds over the next two months. But after
doing some research online, he learned that the best way to get fit was by doing exercise. So he started
to go running every morning and lift weights in the gym every evening. It wasn’t easy for him to keep it
up every day at the beginning, but he never gave up, and his effort soon paid off. He lost forty pounds
over five months, and he ended up being hired by his gym to work as a fitness coach.
