第二课时 课型 Reading and Thinking
教学目标 学生能用所学知识说出几个我们通常庆祝的节日,并探讨我们庆祝这些节日的原因。学生能利用阅读技巧找出每个段落的主题句,了解课文大意和文章结构。学生能提高观察、分析、自学等学习能力。学生能感受到节日的意义,增强文化意识。
教学内容分析 本课主题是“我们为何庆祝节日”,是听说部分内容的延续,从展示几个不同节日的场景过度到探讨人们为何欢庆节日,进而谈论节日的起源、传承与发展变化,旨在启发学生体会节日文化的意义,感悟世界各国人民共同的精神追求和美好愿望。本课在本单元中处于中心地位。该篇阅读结构清晰,共有五个段落,每一段句首都有中心句。五个段落的大意分别是:(1)节日是全世界普遍存在的文化现象。(2)收获的节日几乎存在于每一种文化之中。(3)节日传统习俗会随着时间的变化而变化。(4)节日正变得越来越商业化。(5)节日是全世界人们社会生活中重要的组成部分。文本中每一段的字里行间都隐含了对“我们为何庆祝节日”这一问题的阐释,需要读者仔细揣摩、提炼和推理。
学情分析 高中生已经初步具备了略读、跳读、确定主题句、预测材料内容等阅读微技能。但是很多学生英语基础相对较弱,所以教学中需要降低难度设置。很多学生对学习缺乏主动性,有畏难心理。因此,教师要精心设计使他们感兴趣的活动,用活动教学的方法来调动学生的学习积极性,在师生互动,生生互动的过程中完成教学任务并达到目标。学生往往只注重阅读,不善于思考,所以在阅读教学中要启发学生多思考,重点培养学生的思维品质。
教学重难点 教学重点:培养学生能够找出各段的主题句的能力,了解课文大意和文章结构。锻炼学生的阅读能力,同时将听说读写看贯穿于教学过程之中。教学难点:如何利用略读、跳读、识别关键词、确定主题句、预测文章内容等阅读微技能来形成阅读策略。怎样以阅读课为依托,全面训练学生听、说、读、写、看等各方面的能力。

Step 1.Lead in Lead in---Show timeShare the task of your homework---Do a survey in your class about which festival you like the most and why. Discuss when they take place, what they celebrate and what people do at that time. In this section, the existing background knowledge is activated by sharing the homework in class, so that students can use the existing knowledge and experience to connect the central topic of this class. It can review the old and know the new.
Step 2.Pre-reading As is known to us all, different countries have different festivals. Before you read the passage, please work in groups and list at least three Chinese festivals that you know and try to talk about why do we celebrate these festivals. look at the title. Predict what will be mentioned in the passage. Before reading, let the students discuss the topic of this section and predict the content to be discussed in the text, which can reduce the difficulty of reading and pave the way for the later reading links.
Step 3. Fast reading Skim the reading passage and find the topic sentence of each paragraph. Why do people celebrate the harvest festival ---To show that they are grateful for the year’s supply of food.Task3 Read para.3 and answer the question---How do you feel about festival customs that have already faded away The development of modern society and the spread of new ideas.Task 4 Read para.4 and answer the question---What is people’s attitude towards the commercialization of festivals Task 5 Read para.5 and answer the question---Why do you think people around the world find the festivals are important They reflect people’s wishes, beliefs, faiths, and attitudes towards life and allow them to relax and enjoy life, and forget about their work for a little while. They also can help them understand where they came from, who they are and what to appreciate. Cultivate students' reading abilities such as information acquisition and analysis, and achieve the purpose of making students understand the article more. Through everyone's participation, division of labor, cooperation and summary in the group, students can truly become the main body of learning, mobilize each student's enthusiasm and creative thinking, and improve students' reading ability. Using a variety of reading methods makes it easy for students to concentrate and reduce the difficulty at the same time.So as to cultivate students' good reading habits.
Step 5. Reading tips---the Topic Sentence
