一、教学目标
1. 能够在图片和教师的帮助下读懂电子邮件并完成判断正误活动；
2. 能够写出三个描述自己能或不能做什么的句子。
3. 培养学生综合运用英语的能力，保持学生高昂的学习兴趣和积极合作、交流的精神。
二、教学重难点
1. 能够提高阅读技巧，掌握基本阅读策略，并进行大胆思考和尝试英文写作。
2. 能在日常交际中，正确灵活描述自己能做和不能做哪些事情。
三、课前准备
1. 单词卡片；
2. 教学光盘或其他录音机设备；
3. 教学课件。
四、教学过程
Step 1: Warm-up
1. 师生一起唱“What can you do ”这首歌。

1. 复习本单元词组和重点句型，教师指定图片，男女生PK问答。
Step 2: Presentation
1. “传话”游戏导入：教师偷偷告诉每排排头本课第一句话：Do you want a new friend 每组同时开始，将听到的句子小声往后传，选出最快的一组。教师确定答案，引入read and write.
1. 教师介绍Robin is a robot. 请学生发挥想象说一说机器人有什么特征，教师归纳。
1. 请学生自主阅读课文，看看课文里的机器人和想象的是否一样，同学们找出描述Robin性格能力的句子并画出不懂得地方。
1. 教师讲解want，send，email等生词，带入原文，帮助学生理解。
1. 听录音
第一遍感知语音语调，回答问题“What’s Robin like 和What can he do？”
第二遍核对答案，全班跟读。
1. 完成课本43页的判断题。

教师检查并核对答案，并提问学生How do you know that 带领学生回归原文。
1. 让学生模仿Robin的语调朗读课文，并根据提示进行复述。
Step 3: Consolidation
1. 小组讨论：学生分组，模仿机器人介绍自己，要求运用本单元重点句型。
T: Do you want to be Robin’s friend Write three sentences about yourself.
学生写完后在小组内轮流介绍自己会做的事情，然后教师请几名同学分享所写句子，师生共同评价。
1. 配音比赛：学生以Robin的语调介绍自己，同学自愿上台表演，全班评出“口语之星”。
Step 4: Homework
1. 将本单元所学新单词和新句型自己归纳出来。
1. 给Robin回信，介绍自己会做什么不会做什么。
