Analysis of students： 1.Most of students in Grade 9 loves this topic and they are willing to talk about great inventions. Students have learned some words of travel experiences in Grade 7. Students have learned present simple passive in Module 9 Unit 1.

Step 1 Warming -up (3’) Free talk: 1.Greet to the Ss. 2. Show Ss the video of E-books and talk with the Ss about the E-books. Greet to the teacher and talk with the teacher about their E-books. With the help of teacher,Ss can learn something about E-books. This step aims to arouse Ss’ interests in E-books and can activate their learned knowledge about E-books.
Step2： Pre-reading (5’) Words and sentence learning show the Ss some pictures and describe the differences on E-books and paper books. Later let Ss describe these two kinds of books. Look at the pictures and try to talk about the advantages of these inventions and describe how these inventions have influenced their life. Then ask them to practice in pair. Try to know something basic about two kinds of books. By using vivid pictures to learn new words and playing a guessing game to consolidate them, Ss will be willing to remember all the words. This step is not only designed to let Ss make a review of words, but also to teach word building.
Step3： While-reading (10’) Pair work: teachers show photos and ask Ss to practice in pairs. Dub: let four students dub the dialogue through the silent video. Ss can practice first and then they should work in pairs to ask and answer with the help of provided information. Ss are supposed to work in pairs to dub this dialogue;At the same time, the other students can improve their pronunciation and intonation. Ss can receive enough practice for both vocabularies and sentence pattern by this step.
Step4： Pre-reading (2’) Organize Ss guess the anticipated answer of the question first and then ask them to focus on the words while reading. 1.Ss are supposed to guess before reading where the speakers are and choose one anticipated answer before reading. 2.Ss have to know what is the most important to focus on and check the words they hear. This step is to cultivate their skill of reading for specific information and guessing before reading.
Step 5 While-reading (8’) Play the tape-2（Activity2） 2. ask Ss to complete the blanks(Activity 2). 3. Find the sentences in the conversation which means:(Activity 4) Ss are supposed to read and check the answers in pairs. guess what the answers first before reading. Then read again and write down the correct words.Check the answers in groups, and answer in a complete sentence. read and get the words.
Step 6 Post-reading (10’) Enable the Ss to write a passage about traditional printing and its future.Use the sentences you have written in Activities 5 and 6 to help you. Let Ss share them with others. 1. Ss are asked to write a passage about traditional printing and its future.Use the sentences you have written in Activities 5 and 6 to help you. 2.Ss should share their passages with us. Ss will learn to organize their language by having a conversation with the information in the chart. They can make use of general questions to ask and get required information.
Step7 Summary（1’） Organize what the Ss have learnt today. To sum-up what they have learnt today . Students can sum up what they have learned.
Step 8: Home-work （1’） Must do: 1. Choose one paragraph to recite. 2. Finish Exercise B and A. Choose to do: Search more information to consolidate your opinions. Finish the homework. Homework is helpful for students to consolidate the related knowledge they have learned today.
