第1课时Story time（教案）
●教学目标
1. 能听懂、会说、会读单词及词组：Christmas, present, pretty thing, Christmas Eve, Father Christmas, Christmas tree, buy, put, stocking, wait for, Christmas Day, wake up, early, turkey, pudding, next, then, finally, have a good time, have a lot of fun。
2. 能听懂、会说、会读句型First/Next/Then/Finally,…，并能初步运用。
3. 能理解和正确朗读Story time，并能尝试复述。
4. 能初步运用所学句型描述圣诞节的有关活动与习俗。
5. 了解西方的节日文化，培养跨文化交际的意识和能力。

Step1 warm-up
Enjoy the music about Christmas. 引出课题，齐读。
T：What is the song about
Ss: Christmas.
T: Good. Today we’ll learn Unit 8 At Christmas, (揭题）
出示本课的计划，让学生初步感知First/Next/Then/Finally,…句型。
The plan for the lesson
First, say something about Christmas.
Next, learn the story.
Then, retell the story.
Finally, say more about our Christmas.
Step2 Before reading
PPT出示单词Christmas. T: What do you know about Christmas
(1) PPT出示date .T: When is Christmas Ss: 选择Dec.25th. T: 补充介绍Dec.24th 为Christmas Eve（平安夜，并说明Eve意思是evening），Dec.25th.为Christmas Day（圣诞日）。
(2)T：Do you any things about Christmas Ss: 自由说，师出示物品贴于黑板上，并相机教学这些单词：Christmas tree, Father Christmas, stocking（用long sock来引导读音，说明意思）, (bells,) presents（与gift联系，了解含义，并领读，开火车读练习）, Christmas hat……
（3）T: What do you do at Christmas
让学生自由说说自己实际生活中的活动，但这是个西方节日，学生所说活动肯定很有限，（如购物，吃一顿大餐，送礼物等）
T：Some of you have a big dinner. Some of you get some presents. Some of you don’t do anything. Why Because Christmas is not our traditional festival. It’s a Western holiday.
Step3 While reading
1. T: What do Western people do at Christmas Mike will tell us about Christmas. Let’s listen.（PPT出示Mike头像及录音“We always have a lot of fun at Christmas”.）
Ss: Mike always has a lot of fun at Christmas.（板书have a lot of fun）
T : Mike always have a lot of fun at Christmas. What does he do at Christmas He shows some pictures about Christmas to us.（PPT呈现课文四幅插图）Let’s listen to him and put them in the correct order. （出示first, next, then, finally四个单词，让学生用这些单词来进行排序。）（播放课文录音，并让学生排序。）
T&Ss：交流，用First，b.这样的句式，初次练习这四个词。
OK. They do a lot of things at Christmas. But what do they do Can you tell me in English (No.) Now read and find the activities. Work in groups of four.（PPT呈现以下要求）
Read and find.（四人小组合作，读一读找一找。）
First, choose one part.
Next, read and underline.
Then, talk to your partners.
Finally, show your ideas to us.
Ss：小组内分工合作，每人选择一个部分自读找一找，并互相读一读，有不会的单词，互相请教或向老师询问。
T&Ss：分段交流。
(1) PPT出示课文第一段，生交流活动词组，师板书buy...for... go to see…，再跟读录音一遍。
(2) T: Next, what do they do PPT出示课文第二段，学生交流，引出pretty things的教学，PPT动画演示put the pretty things on the Christmas tree & Put the presents under the tree并板书put...on...和put...under...，学生跟读录音一遍。
(3) T: It’s Christmas Eve, what do they do then PPT出示课文第三段，学生交流活动。教学stocking 和wait for presents的教学，跟读录音一遍。
拓展平安夜外国小朋友写信告诉圣诞老人圣诞愿望的文化知识，然后让学生说说自己的圣诞愿望。（PPT呈现以下内容）
Wait for presents
First, write your wish(愿望) on the letter.
Next, put the letter in the stocking.
Then, put the stocking on the bed.
Finally, Father Christmas comes to see you.
T: (PPT呈现Mike的信，并让学生模仿说说自己的信。)
T: Le’s wait for presents together. Look, Father Christmas is coming. （播放圣诞老人送礼物的电影片断，让学生真实感受一下节日氛围。）
T: Who may be Father Christmas
Ss: My father and mother are Father Christmas.
T: Maybe. Our parents love us very much。Do you love them too
Ss: Yes.
T: Finally, it’s Christmas Day. what do they do on Christmas Day PPT出示课文第四段，学生交流活动。引出wake up early 及have a big lunch。其中wake与cake, lake对比教学读音，再用起床图片帮助学生理解意思。
T: What’s for the big lunch 引出a turkey, pudding,其中turkey与Thursday联系，指导读音，pudding与put, push联系指导读音，并在图片上圈出相应物品，理解意思。并拓展图中的potato salad。（板书词组）
学生跟读录音，师板书have a good time，并说明与have a lot of fun同意。
3. Read the whole story after the cartoon together.
Step3 After reading
Retell the story.
出示课文四张插图，总结回顾Mike 一家在圣诞节的活动，出示“Tip: 使用first, next, then, finally等词能让语言表达有条理。” 并让学生四人小组合作，根据板书及插图每人选一个部分，以第三人称方式复述课文。
师先示范第一部分，边说，边将板书的图片，放到相应的词组。
交流时，让学生上台边说边将其余图片放到相应的位置。
T：（总结）Christmas is a holiday full of love and joy.
Talk about our Christmas.
T: Mike has a lot of fun at Christmas. Do you want to have a wonderful Christmas (Yes) Let’s imagine and say.（PPT呈现句子结构）

Ss: 四人一组展开讨论， 口头交流展示。
