Class Type: New Lesson
Teaching Objectives and Requirements:
1. Be able to say some food words;
2. Be able to talk about food with others;
3. Ask others questions about food and answer others’ questions.
Main Teaching Points and Difficulties:
1. Learn new words “food, fridge, beef, bread, mantou, tofu, sausage, meatball, pancake, sandwich, tomato, potato, carrot”;
2. Review words “milk, fish, chicken, hamburger, egg”;
3. Learn new sentences “What do you have in your fridge I have ___”.
Teaching Method: TPR, listen and say, pair work.
Teaching Materials: Food cards, tape, stickers.
Course of Teaching
一. Greeting
T: Good morning, everybody! (Ss: Good morning, Sally!)
二. Warm-up
T: Are you happy today
OK, first let’s sing a song with the tape. “Head, shoulders......”
(Ss sing the song with clapping hands)
Now this time let’s sing and touch! Everybody, stand up, please!
(Ss sing the song with touching their body parts)
Good job! Sit down, please!
三. New lesson
1. Lead in
T: After doing sport, I feel a little hungry. Are you hungry I want to eat some food. Look, I have a big...... (Draw a fridge on the blackboard)
Can you guess what is it
Yes, I have a big fridge! I put my food in my fridge.
So today, let’s learn Unit 3My Food. (Write the title on the blackboard)
2. Learn new lesson
T: But first I want to know “what do you have in your fridge ” (Write this sentence on the blackboard) (Ask Ss to answer, e.g.: milk)
I can say “I have milk.” (Write down this sentence)
T: I have milk in my fridge, too. (Stick the “Milk” card on the blackboard, in the big fridge.)
(Use several methods to show all the Food Cards, and then stick on)
3. Read and remember
T: We have some food here, let’s count what do we have
(Read all the cards together: bread, sandwich......)
Oh we have 18 words here. Boys and girls now look at them and try your best to remember them, read and remember, two minutes, go!
(Two minutes for Ss to read)
Now you can tell me which one is the most difficult to remember.
4. Memory test
T: Let’s read the words together again.
(T point the cards, Ss read, then T take away the food cards from the blackboard and put them on the table in order)
OK, no pictures here. So now, let me see who can answer my question.
What do you have in your fridge (“I have ___”. Who answers right come in the front and find the word card and stick it back on the blackboard. The second time the S needs to say two words, “I have ___and __.” and then three, four......)
Now we get the pictures back! That’s good! You have a good memory!
5. Listen and say
T: Let’s listen to the tape. Open your book at Page22.Look at Part A.
The fist time, just listen. The second time, read after the tape.
The third time, let’s read together without the tape.
四. Practice
T: OK, after learning, let me see whether you get improved.
Look at Part B. Listen first. Then take out your sticker.
Work in pairs, ask each other the questions. Stick on the one you can read. At last, Let’s see who got the most stickers. If there’s no milk sticker, please draw one. (Who got 8 10 12 .... )
So ____is today’s winner! (If there’s enough time, ask Ss to show)
五. Homework
1. Listen and read Lesson 13;
2. Remember the 18 kinds of food.
