3. Post-reading
英语诗歌小常识
(1) 有的英文诗分成几节(stanza),每节由若干诗行组成;有的诗则不分节。
(2) 英文诗每行的第一个字母都大写,但是一行诗不一定是一个完整的句子,不一定能表达一个完整的意思。有时候,一行诗正好是一句,有时两行甚至许多行才构成一个意思完整的句子。
(3) 英文诗一般都押韵。常见的几种押韵方式:头韵是指一行(节)诗中几个词开头的辅音相同,形成押韵。押在诗行最后一个重读音节上,叫尾韵。这是英文诗歌最常见的押韵部位。诗行中间停顿处的重读音节与该行最后一个重读音节押韵者,叫行内韵。也有不少英文诗是不押韵的,不押韵的诗称无韵诗或白体诗(blank verse)。多用在戏剧和叙事诗中。

1. 一般现在时

2. 一般过去时

3. 一般将来时
用法: 表示将来某个时间将要发生的动作或存在的状态; 表示打算、计划、准备做某事或事情的必然性。
时间状语: tomorrow, soon, next week, in a few minutes等。

◆注意:
以下两种情况常用一般现在时表示将来:

用法: 表示现在(说话瞬间)正在发生的动作, 还表示当前一段时间内的活动或现阶段一直进行的动作。

5. 过去进行时

The person that I will never forget is Mr. Bruce, my English teacher in my junior high school. He has short curly hair. He’s of medium build. He likes reading all kinds of books and keeping doing exercises every day. He doesn’t like smoking or drinking wine. He’s outgoing and energetic.
When I first started Grade 7, I was shy and afraid of speaking to anyone. My English was poor and I felt nervous when I had to answer questions in class. I had problems speaking even though I knew the answer. I felt quite unhappy with myself. One day,
Mr. Bruce spoke to me after class. He encouraged me to speak to anyone. He also told me that he believed I could speak well if I practiced more. I was moved by what he said and it made me work harder on my speaking skills.
Mr. Bruce continued to encourage me and I became even more confident. I improved so much that I won an English speech contest that year! I will always be thankful to Mr. Bruce for his advice and support.
