In the UK, there is a charity shop where people can do with their old stuff.
The first charity shop appeared in Britain in the 19th Century. The Salvation Army, a UK charity, was one of the first to run a secondhand clothing shop to provide the poor and needy with affordable clothes. The modern form people know today was opened in 1947 by Oxfam. These days, charity shops are a common sight across the UK. During business hours any member of the public can donate their unwanted items to a charity shop – clothes, books, electronics, furniture. Most charity shops will take anything. These items are checked for wear and tear and if found still serviceable, priced up to be sold at a heavily discounted price. For many, this is a win-win situation. To the charity, it means a valuable source of revenue, which they can use to pursue their charitable aim. To the consumer, it provides the opportunity to buy, often extremely cheaply, items and clothes. Though previously owned, they are durable. To the donator, it declutters and may help to assuage consumer guilt. On more than one occasion a buyer has purchased something very cheaply, only to later discover its true value – such as a screen print bought for 99p and later found to be by English artist Ben Nicholson. It sold at auction for 4,200. So next time you need to rid yourself of something, spare a thought for the charity shop – after all, charity begins at home!

Saving money is big problem for most people, simply because we love spending every penny we earn. There are few tips you can follow to save tons of money monthly. So the first idea is that, you should know exactly why you want to save. A lot of people give up and stop saving because they don't see exactly why they are saving. Your goal shouldn't be to save for a brand new car, because once you get that car, you will get poor again. So the ultimate goal should be to achieve the financial freedom. Tip number 2 is, pay yourself first. Before even spending a single penny out of your income, put aside a percentage of it into your saving account. You are not allowed to spend this money under any circumstances. This money cannot be spent anywhere, but only can be invested. Next. Know your expenses. Because the savings aren't growing as fast as you would want them to. You can spend 30 days writing down every transaction you make, so that by the end of the month, you will have a detail understanding of how exactly you spend your money, and you can stop spending money in those areas that don't have a big effect on your life. Tip number four is, procrastinate(拖延). Procrastination is bad but not in this case. Usually we get excited when we want to buy something new right away, but overtime that excitement goes away. It's like when you buy that a new phone, in the first couple of days, you might still be excited about it, but then, you know what happens, it just becomes normal. So why not get into the habit of waiting to buy things, especially expensive ones You'll still end up buying all the important things you need, but there will be plenty of times when you change your mind and hold into your cash.
Taking action to save money might be difficult to start and continue, but you will be able to live the rest of your life as you want.
