本模块以Sandstorm为话题,通过本模块的几篇阅读材料使学生对sandstorm有所了解,并通过文章中提出的一些深刻的问题,比如,The desert is only 250 kilometers away to the west of Beijing.使学生更好地了解我们的地球和我们的生活环境正遭受的破坏,并引发对“我们应该如何保护环境”的热烈讨论,通过这些讨论会激发学生对环境保护的了解和实施的自觉性。通过讨论Sandstorm,让学生表达对沙尘暴的看法,以及我们应采取何种措施来提高环境质量。
教学目标
通过本课的学习,学生能够:
1. 提取语篇大意,梳理文章结构,归纳文中关于沙尘暴的事实性信息。
2. 基于自主学习与小组合作学习,进一步梳理和整合所读的文章信息,对文章从不同角度进行分析和深度解读。
3. 基于文章信息,学生讨论人与自然的关系,发表个人观点。
学习准备:学生课前自学了新单词,预习了课文。

Step1 Lead in 1.T shows pictures of sandstorms that have happened in recent years and asks Ss what they can see in the pictures。 2.Ss discuss the questions in groups and tell the T what they can see in the pictures. 3.T let Ss discuss the question: Why do the sandstorms happen so frequently in recent years? 4.Ss discuss the question and share their answers in class. 5.T writes down the answers on the blackboard。 利用图片创设情境,引出主题,激活学生背景知识,并引出学生问题,形成阅读期待。
Step2 Activity1 Analyse the structures of the text 1.T asks Ss to read the text carefully ,and find the structure of the text. 2.T ask Ss to work out the main idea of each paragraph in group. 3.T writes down the main idea of each paragraph on the blackboard: P1.The sandstorms happen in Asia and the Chinese government has taken measures to prevent them. P2.The features of the sandstorms and happen in Asia. P3.The reasons of the sandstorms. P4.The features of sandstorms that happens in Beijing. P5.The sandstorms happen so quickly and people had better not go out in sandstorms or wear a mask.
