/t/是清辅音，发音时声带不振动。舌尖贴住上齿龈，然后突然放开，让气流冲出口腔，爆破成音。
字母t某些单词中不发音，常见的情况有：
以-sten、-stle、-ften结尾的单词，t通常不发音。
如：listen / l sn/ (注意地)听；倾听
castle / kɑ sl/ 城堡；堡垒
often / fn; ft n/ 时常；常常
