Yuan Longping, considered as “father of hybrid rice”， was born in 1930. The scientist I'd like to introduce is Stephen Hawking, famous for his great scientific achievements in physics and his great spirit of fighting against the deadly disease. Hawking was more than courageous as the disease never let him down and his survival against the disease indicates that never should people lose hope. Optimism and humor are his most remarkable features, which help Hawking fight against the disease for over 50 years.

Dear Jim，
Learning you're collecting data about famous scientists in China, I'd like to introduce Tu Youyou to you.
Tu Youyou was born in Zhejiang Province in 1930. She was admitted into Peking University, majoring in medicine, after which she devoted herself to the fight against malaria. Researching into traditional Chinese medicine and conducting endless trials for scores of years, she finally extracted qinghaosu from the herb qinghao, which has saved millions of people's life ever since. In 2015, she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
Not only is she one of the standouts among the scientists in China, but her sense of responsibility inspires us to devote more to our work.
