R.L. Stevenson was Scot who trained as a lawyer, but became a famous novelist. He wrote a number of classic children’s stories, including Treasure Island, Kidnapped and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Treasure Island is a wonderful story of Jim Hawkins’s adventures with a group of dangerous pirates. It is an adventure tale intended for children but has been enjoyed by adults just as much.
