教材分析和设计思路: 本课是八年级第六模块第三课时,分为三个部分。第一部分Language practice,让学生进一步练习过去进行时的结构和用法,使学生真正掌握如何使用过去进行时;第二部分Around the world,介绍其他有关冒险的故事及其作者,拓展学生的知识面,激发他们对于阅读英文作品的兴趣;第三部分Module task,训练学生用过去进行时写作的能力,也是检测学生对过去进行时用法的掌握,作为留给学生的作业。
学情分析: 本课内容根据英语基础较好的学生的情况设计。学生们已经学习了Unit 1和 Unit 2,熟知过去进行时的结构和用法,但还需更多的练习加以巩固。另外,学生们的求知欲强,为他们介绍课外知识有助于提高他们的英语能力。
教学目标:知识目标能够正确使用过去进行时;能够描述过去正在进行的动作;掌握新单词、词组的用法。技能目标能够用过去进行时描述过去正在发生的事情。学习策略拓展与教材有关的知识。情感态度欣赏童话故事;培养对于英语阅读的兴趣。
教学重点和难点: 区分一般过去时和过去进行时,能够正确使用这两种时态。

Step 5 Ask them the differences between the two tenses and show it to them. Answer the question. Review the differences between the two tenses. 2’
Step 6 Let Ss do the exercise based on the two tenses on the screen. Do the exercise. Consolidate the usage of past on-goings and its difference with past tense. 3’
Step 7 Let Ss do the listening on P134. (Exercise 8) Listen and put the pictures in the correct order. Listen for details. 4’
Step 8 Let Ss listen it again and retell the story in exercise 8. Retell the story according to the pictures. Practice the skill of retelling a story with past on-goings. 4’

Step10 Let Ss talk about their own stories in groups and select the best ones in groups. Tell their own stories with group members and select the best ones. Speak out and share Ss’ works in groups. 7’
Step11 Let the representative of each group come to the front and read it for the whole class. Read their stories to the whole class. The audience should select a best teller. Practice the skill of telling a story and listening to stories. 7’
