根据前文“May I ask you some questions about American English and British English ”可知,A在此询问B能问一些关于美式英语和英式英语的问题,因为问句形式属于一般疑问句,所以回答的答案通常是Yes或No来回答表示许可或者否定。
根据下文“No, just a few. For example, Americans use “color”, but British people use “colour””可知,此处B向A举例说了美式英语和英式英语的不同,所以空白处应该是A说“这两个有很多的区别吗?”,选项D.“Are there many differences (有很多区别吗?)”
American spellings are used more and more in Canada now”可知,B讲述自己在加拿大美式拼写和英式拼写都会使用,所以前文应是A问B平时会使用美式拼写还是会用英式拼写,选项E.“Do you use American spellings or British spellings (你用美国拼法还是英国拼法?)”
根据下文“Yes, people from different areas speak differently, just as you do in China.” 选项C.“By the way(顺便说一句) ”符合题意,故选C。
They can communicate with each other easily.” F.“Can they understand each other (他们能相互理解吗?)”
