Unit 5 What does he do
一、单元教学目标
知识与能力目标:
1. 能够听、说、读、写句型:What does he do He is a businessman. Where does he work He works at sea. How does he go to work He goes to work by bike.
2. 能够在情景中运用句型:What does he/she do He/She is...Where does he/she work He/She works...How does he/she go to work He/She goes to work...谈论人物的职业和生活情况。
3. 能够在图片的帮助下正确理解并按照正确的意群及语音、语调朗读关于爱好及职业的语篇,能运用本单元所学核心句型口头描述自己的爱好和喜欢的职业,同时能仿照范例完成信息表。
4. 能够听、说、读、写单词和词组:factory worker, postman, businessman, police officer,fisherman, scientist, pilot, coach.
5. 能够正确使用单词和词组:factory worker, postman, businessman, police officer,fisherman, scientist, pilot, coach谈论和描述人物的职业和生活情况。
6. 知道逗号是英语句子中停顿的标志。
情感态度、文化意识、学习策略目标:
1. 了解橙色多用于各国紧急救援的衣服和设备上,如:救生衣、救生艇、消防员衣服、工程抢先车等。
2. 能从不同视角认识职业,明白能从事某些职业应具备的条件,构思自己的职业梦想。
3. 能够通过看图捕捉关键信息,并根据提示做出听前预测。
4. 能够通过文段获取主旨大意,并能根据此选择合适的标题。
二、单元教材分析
本单元是义务教育PEP小学英语教科书六年级上册第五单元,围绕What dosc he do?即询问职业的话题展开,在教材创设的一个询问父母职业和自己的职业理想的真实情景中引出本单元话题。对职业的询问是学生比较感兴趣的话题,此话题学生在实际生活中使用较广,且与生活联系十分紧密。六年级学生已经掌握了一些生活中的关于职业名称的词汇、常见的地点和交通工具名词(围绕话题引申的对工作地点和出行方式的提问)。在本单元学习中,重点通过听、说、读、写等活动使学生掌握“What/Where/How do/does...?”等询问职业、工作地点和出行方式的交际用语和相关功能词汇,并能通过学习进一步发展学生的语言交际能力,能在现实生活中获取他人的职业信息。
三、学情分析
对于小学六年级的学生来讲,已经具有一定的英语基础,同时也具备一些运用的语言知识的能力。在此基础上,学生们学习这样一个关系到他们个人的未来职业的内容应会引起他们更大的兴趣。而教师更应抓住这一有利时机,对其进行正确引导并帮助他们树立起远大的理想与目标,并帮助他们树立正确的职业价值观和社会主义核心价值观。
四、资料链接
英语中职业名称的性别差异
中文中职业名称没有严格的性别区别,如:警察、医生、司机等,如果要区分的话可在职业名称前加上“男”“女”,如:女警察、男警察等。英语中有些职业名称也没有严格区别,如:doctor,teacher,driver等,但有些职业名称,由于性别不同,单词也会不同,如:男演员叫“actor”,女演员叫“actress”;男警察叫“policeman”,女警察叫“policewoman”;“salesman”指男售货员,“saleswoman”指女售货员,“salesperson”既可以指男售货员,也可以指女售货员;“mailman”指男邮递员,“mail person”一般指女邮递员,而不是“mailwoman”。
第1课时
A Let’s try & Let’s talk
一、教学目标
1. 能够在情景中运用句型“What does he/she do He/She is a(n)…”谈论人物的职业。
2. 能够理解语境语言“He often goes to other countries.”“Do you want to be a head teacher,too ”的大意。
3. 能够用正确的意群及语音、语调朗读对话。
二、教学重难点
重点:
1. 在情景中恰当运用句型“What does he/she do He/ She is a(n)”谈论人物的职业。
2. 理解词汇businessman、country、head teacher的意思并能正确发音。
难点:能够在情景中运用第三人称单数的特殊疑问句。

音频、视频、单词卡片和多媒体教学课件。
四、教学过程
(一)Warm up
1.Greeting师生互致问候,运用以前学过的句式进行简单交流,使课本知识口语化。

学生头脑风暴,思考职业相关的英文单词。

(1) Watch and answer提出问题,让学生猜测,激发学生的求知欲。学生带着问题观看文本,整体感知对话。

对于对话中提到的country-countries, head teacher讲解含义,并引导学生在语篇中运用。
(3) Let’s answer根据文本回答问题

(4) Listen and repeat听录音跟读文本。注意模仿录音中的的语音、语调。
(5) Listen and repeat分角色练习对话,表演对话。让学生在角色扮演的活动中,熟练掌握本课句型,并体会学习的快乐。
(三)Practice
1. Let’s think 情景带入:李爷爷锻炼的时候遇到了和他一起在老年大学学习英语的刘爷爷。两人用英语聊起了各自的孩子。
以此来帮助学生巩固和运用语言。
