when是一个疑问副词,意为“什么时候,何时”,引导特殊疑问句。when可以对年、月、日以及时刻进行提问,回答时常用介词at,in,on等组成表示时间的介词短语。
例如:

—It’s on January 14th.
辨析 when和what time
when 什么时候 可以对年、月、日以及时刻进行提问，或者询问某一动作发生的时间
what time 什么时间 提问具体的时间，常对钟点进行提问

知识点二 英语中的日期表达法
1.英式英语按照日、月、年的顺序，“日”与“年”之间要加逗号“，”。书写时，“日”可以写成序数词的形式，也可以只写成阿拉伯数字；读时，“日”要读作序数词。
2012年10月1日→1st October, 2012
读作：first October, two thousand and twelve。

答案 A 英语中“日”要用序数词表示,故答案选A。
知识点三 序数词
1.序数词的构成
(1)英语中1～19的序数词，除了first，second，third外，其余均由基数词加-th构成，但要注意fifth, eighth, ninth, twelfth的拼写形式。
(2)以-ty结尾的基数词，变为序数词时，将y变为i，再加-eth。如：twenty→twentieth第二十。
(3)＂几十几＂以上的基数词，变为序数词时，只把个位数变为序数词。如：thirty-five→thirty-fifth第三十五。
(4)序数词缩写形式是由阿拉伯数字后面加上序数词的最后两个字母构成。如：23rd→twenty-third第二十三。
记忆口诀
基变序有规律：结尾字母是th；
一二三特殊记，结尾字母tdd；
八去t九去e，f要把ve替；
ty将y变成i，th前面还有一个e；
几十几也好记，只变个位就可以。
2.序数词的用法
(1)序数词可以用来表示顺序、编号等，但要放在名词前面。
如：the second picture第二幅图。
(2)序数词可以表示＂几月几日＂中的＂几日＂。
如：June 11th 6月11日 January 3rd 1月3日
(3)序数词前面通常要使用定冠词the，但当序数词前面有形容词性物主代词或名词所有格修饰时，不能用the。
如：This is my twelfth birthday.

答案 B 句意:看第五幅画,你能看见里面有五个人。第一空表示“第几”,要用序数词;第二空表示“数量的多少”,要用基数词。
知识点四 时间介词in, on, at
on用在具体的某一天或某一天的上午，下午或晚上用
in用在世纪，年份，季节，月份，上午，下午或者晚上用
at用在某个时间点，某一时刻或年龄前
例：
on Sunday morning 在周日上午
in December 在十二月
in the evening 在晚上
in 2020在2020年
at six o’clock在六点

答案 A 在具体的几月几日前要用介词on。
知识点五 名词所有格
1. 名词所有格的概念
名词所有格：表示事物的从属关系，意思是“…的…”。
2.名词所有格的分类
(1)-'s
单词形式 构成方式 例子
普通单数名词 在词尾加's the boy's bag Mother's Day
以-s结尾的复数名词 在词尾只加' the two boys' mother
词尾不带-s的复数名词 在词尾加's Children's Day men's room
以-s结尾的人名 在词尾加's或' James' sister
注意：“共同拥有”和“各自拥有”的表达
各有：分别有's, 跟在每个名词的后面
共有：表示共同拥有，一个's跟在最后一个名词的后面
【口诀】各有各带's，共有后带's
This is Lucy and Lily's room.（共同拥有）
There are Lucy's and Lily's rooms.（分别拥有）
(2)-of结构
表示无生命事物的名词的所有关系：
the door of the classroom
the window of the house
