Step 1: Leading in Students look at the maps and talk about them. T:Do you like reading fairy stories A fairy story is often a magical story written for children. Look at the following pictures, can you tell me the name of the stories Ss: Goldilocks and the three Bears; The Snow White (白雪公主); The Sleeping Beauty...... T:You have already known so many famous stories. This class we will learn a new English story----Alice’s Adventures in wonderland Step2: Pre--listening Learn new words and expressions. (1) Give students a few minutes to review the words. (2) Play a matching game to help students practice words and expressions. Background information about the story. (1) Know some main characters in the story(Alice, the Cheshire Cat, the March Hare, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts......) (2) Memory challenge. Students match the pictures with the name as quickly as possible. Step3: while--listening Listen and number the words as you hear them.(Activity 1) T: We are going to listen to a short introduction about the story, Alice’s Adventures in wonderland . before listening, lets read through the list of the words in the box. Call back the answers from the whole class. Listen again and number the pictures.(Activity 2) Listen and read(Activity 3) (1) Watch a video about the conversation. The students watch and listen carefully, and then finish the task in Activity 4. Listen and read again. Match the character with what she\he was doing. Pair work. Read the conversation by the partner. And number the pictures in correct order. Ask and answer. A: What was Alice doing B: She was sitting...... A: Were they having a tea party B: ...... Step 4: Post---listening Group work. Students work in groups, discuss and retell the story with the help of the pictures and the mind map. Share in groups first. Let some students stand in front of class to make a presentation. Teacher evaluates students’ performance and give some feedback. Step 5: Summary 1. Teacher lead the class to summarize the key points of this lesson.
