This period includes Warming up, Pre-reading, reading &Comprehending on P16-18. Through the reading, the Ss will learn something about the history of computer.

(一)知识目标 1. Learn the new words and phrases. 2. Get to know about the development of the computer. (二)能力目标 1. Learn to get information through the Internet. 2. Grasp some reading skills. 3. Sum up the main idea and the outline of the reading passage. (三)情感目标 Stimulate Ss’ interest and love for science. 教学重点 1. Learn something about the development of the computer. 2. Try to understand the main idea of the passage. 3. Make the outline of the reading passage clear. 教学难点 1. How to help the Ss understand the passage well. 2. How to help the Ss find out the topic sentences and supportive details.

The topic is really interesting to the Ss, but they may meet with some problems in understanding the technical expression, especially the girls, who are not good at IT.

Ask the Ss to read the text carefully and find the supportive details Read again and finish the task 在上面的整体阅读基础上再进行细节阅读,加深对文章话题的理解,同时进行写作中材料组织方面的练习
