第四部分 写作
第一节 One possible version
In order to help the exchange students fit in with the new school life in our campus as soon as possible, the
student union held a welcome party for freshmen in our school hall on Friday evening. All the exchange students
and English teachers attended the party, some of whom gave wonderful performances such as dancing and singing
along to the songs. The highlight of the party came up when we made and tasted the traditional Chinese food,
dumplings, together. We all had a good time and enjoyed an unforgettable evening.
第二节 One possible version
Finally, she called her parents into her room. She showed them the money and told them that she had seen
the bag in the store and stole it in this way. She had lost her honesty but she wanted to regain it back. “Let us take
it back to the store and try to find the old lady’s family.” Emily told her parents. Emily’s parents did not get mad at
her but appreciated her honesty.
The store owner was quite surprised on hearing the story. “You mean that you found almost twelve thousand
dollars and you are here to return it ” he asked. Looking through the records, he found the family’s telephone
number. Half an hour later, the family came over to the store. They were still sad about losing their beloved. It
turned out that Emily brought them timely help, because they were in great need of money. Emily’s parents had
tears in their eyes, feeling proud that their daughter had passed an important test—the lost and found test of
honesty.

Text 2
M:Math is so much harder than science. It’s the only one of my classes I have trouble with.
W: I can help you with that. By the way, could you help me with my English
Text 3

Text 5
M: Look at you. You are out of breath.
W: I missed the bus, so I have to run all the way to school.
M: So where is your bike
W: There is something wrong with it. My dad is going to have it repaired today.
Text 6
M: Mom, this is going to take such a long time! Animal World will be on in 20 minutes. It’s my favorite TV
program. You know I can’t miss it!
W: I know, honey. But we have to wait in line to pay for these things we need.
M: You promised we’d be home in time.
W: Be a little patient, Jack. We’ll get out of here soon.
Text 7

W: I didn’t go to sleep until 2:00 am, and then I had to get up around 6:00 in the morning.
M: To play computer games again
W: No. I had to finish my work plan for next year. My boss is going to read it himself this morning.
M: Why didn’t you get it done earlier
W: My boss had said he wouldn’t need it until this Friday. But then he suddenly changed his mind and wanted
it two days earlier.
M: Why
W: I guess it has something to do with the bad economy. We had a terrible year this year. He is worried and wants
to figure out a solution as soon as possible.
Text 8
M: Is the woman in the picture your mother
W: No. That’s my aunt Mary. She was a very famous swimmer in the 1980s.
M: Really
W: Yes. She competed in both the 1984 and the 1988 Olympics.
M: Did she win
W: She sure did. She set world records in the 100-meter and 200-meter swimming events. She was only a teenager
at that time.
M: She was really great. What did she do later
W: She left the swimming team and went to work at a bank in her hometown.
M: Has the record she set been broken
W: Yes. In May 2000, Susan O’Neil broke her 200-meter swimming record. My aunt was very happy when
she heard the news.
M: Your aunt must be a great woman. I really look forward to meeting her one day.
Text 9
W: I can’t decide whether to go to university or to get a job. What’s your opinion
M: Well, if I were you, I would go on studying.
W: But I don’t even know what to study.
M: How about chemistry
W: That’s what my parents want me to do.
M: You should take their advice. They know what’s best for you.
W: But most of my friends will have jobs and some of them will take a gap year while I’m spending all my time
reading and writing.
2
M: Come on. The more you learn, the better job you’ll get.
W: I’ll take your advice. Thank you.
Text 10
I have played music for most of my life — about twenty years. My parents had a piano in our house that I
would pretend to play as a two-year-old kid. I started taking lessons at the age of ten. I loved to play. I would
practice for three hours a day as a kid. As I got older, my teachers and parents wanted me to get serious about
playing. So, in high school, I took music classes and played in some concerts to make them pleased. I traveled to
other cities to play. The concerts and the traveling were hard on me. I was worried about making my parents proud
and being the best I could be. When I left high school and went to college, I stopped playing as much. At some
point, I decided not to play the piano anymore. But I never forgot the music. Now I just play for fun. I don’t
practice every day, and I don’t have to become the best player anymore. But that’s okay with me.
