第二章 阅读理解
命题特点:
阅读是人们学习和获取知识与信息的重要途径。长期以来,培养阅读能力一直是语言学科的重要课程目标。通过阅读,学习者不仅可以学得英语词汇和语言知识,增强语感,提高语言学习的水平,更可以获取信息和新知,提高分析和解决问题的能力。因此,阅读教学是基础教育阶段英语教学的重要内容,阅读理解能力的考查也是英语学业考试的重要组成部分。
《课程标准》对初中毕业生英语阅读技能的要求是:
1. 能根据上下文和构词法推断、理解生词的含义;
2. 能理解段落中各句子之间的逻辑关系;
3. 能找出文章中的主题,理解故事的情节,预测故事情节的发展和可能的结局;
4. 能读懂常见体裁的阅读材料;
5. 能根据不同的阅读目的运用简单的阅读策略获取信息;
6. 能利用字典等工具书进行学习;
7. 除教材外,课外阅读量应累计达到15万词以上。
在学业水平试题中,阅读理解的考查内容主要集中在以下几方面:理解主旨和要义;解文章中的具体信息(包括图文转换的信息);根据上下文推测生词的意义;进行简单的推断和推理;理解文章的基本结构;理解作者的意图和态度。
学业水平测试中,英语阅读理解试题的选材,就体裁而言大致可分为叙述文、说明文和应用文三种。
叙述文主要是以讲故事为主。讲故事的方式则以叙述故事情节发展为主线。因此,同学们在阅读这类文章时要找出贯穿全文的线索,尤其要关注故事的来龙去脉,即事情的起因、发展和结果;同时抓住故事的细节,如情节发展过程中时间的推移、人物的变化、地点的变换等。在此基础上,还应能够归纳概括出文章的中心思想。
幽默小故事是比较常见的叙述文,这些故事往往情节简单但寓意深刻。其高潮部分往往出现在故事的结尾,让人意想不到却又在情理之中,只有读懂全文才能真正领略其幽默之处。
说明文是以解释或阐述事实、观点、方法、规律等为主要内容的文章。学业水平测试中常见的说明文按内容可分为两种,即介绍科学知识的科普类文章和介绍社会知识的人文类文章。
科普类文章涉及天文地理、科学技术、生物自然等多方面的内容。文章中包含有一定的专业知识,有一定量的专业词汇。在缺乏对相关知识了解的情况下,同学们在阅读时会产生一定的困难。好在初中阶段所选用的科普类文章大多在表达上清楚易懂,深入浅出;用词简洁明了,行文结构清晰。其文章结构基本上是:提出问题引起读者思考,分析原因帮助读者理解,最后提出解决问题的方法,使读者在阅读后有所收获。在阅读这类文章时,要特别注意事物的特征、用途以及相关的数据等。人文类文章是以介绍社会文化为主,其内容包括历史地理、风土人情、风俗习惯等。这类文章一般通俗易懂,层次分明;有明确的主题,每段都围绕主题展开,或列举或说明。在阅读这类文章时要注意把握文章所谈到的社会现象的内涵。
应用文形式多样,包括书信、通知、便条、请柬、广告、图表等;内容广泛,涉及社会、文化、政治、经济等众多领域。其特点是:贴近生活,实用性强;简明扼要,可读性强。选用这些体裁的材料不仅能提高测试的真实性,还能通过展示目标语言在现实生活中的真实运用来激发学生的英语学习动机。
例题解析
在近年的学业水平测试及中考中,阅读理解题的分值在整套试卷中占了较高的比例,这部分的成绩直接关系到学生能否取得优异成绩。如何答好这类试题,对学生来说确实起着举足轻重的作用。众所周知,作为一种公正的测试手段和评判标准,阅读理解部分和试卷中其他题型一样,既要如实地反映学生的语言素质,又要显示出其综合运用知识的能力。因此,要答好这类试题,必须在平时加强这方面的训练,在阅读过程中,逐步理解、掌握英语特有的表达方法、习惯用语、写作习惯和社会、历史、文化、科技等方面的背景知识,这是一个长期训练的过程。除此以外,还要认真对待基础知识(词汇、语法)等的学习,因为词汇量越大,语法知识越扎实,就越有助于提高阅读理解的速度和正确性。当然,若再能够掌握一些解题技巧,答题时就会更得心应手。
一般说来,阅读理解题的题干常会出现以下几种考查形式:
一、理解文章中的具体信息
在整个阅读理解试题中,这类试题大约有10道小题,所占比重最大,也称之为事实或细节辨认题,即考查文章中直接或间接提到的具体事实及线索。在阅读试题时,要比较四个选项,找出表现差别的关键词,作为重点来思考。做这类试题,我们可以通过“扫读(Scanning)”来寻找答案。扫读是指有目的地为在文章找某一具体信息而进行的搜索性阅读,如寻找人名、地名、时间或一个关键词语。当找到找到这个词时,我们就要开始做局部的细读,以确定我们所找的信息确在此处。为了使扫读有效,我们必须仔细地审题。因为审题的过程就是明确阅读目的的过程。一般来说,这类题目应该不难找到答案,只要仔细阅读,弄清并准确把握各个事实,善于发现跟其密切的信息,按照题干要求 “对号入座 ”,就能选出正确答案。
这类试题通常这样考查(所选例题均选自2010年济宁市中考试题,题号不变):

但有时也会出现这类题目,如:Which of the following is (NOT) true according to the passage 这类题目也属于具体信息理解题,要求学生在阅读语篇整体内容的基础上,就各个选项的信息是否符合语篇中有关内容进行分析判断。还有一些试题要求对所给信息进行综合分析,对事件全过程中的若干细节按某种顺序(如事间、空间)进行排序。

二、根据上下文推测生词的意义
文章中出现的超纲词汇要求你通过读懂文章内容对这一生词词义进行判断,一般来说这些词汇是有点生僻或者一词多义。当然如果你本身的词汇量就很大,做这类题就易如反掌。
遇到生此时,首先要冷静,要善于运用猜词技巧来猜测生词的意义。如but表示后句对前句意思的转折,and表示前后信息的一致。有时,我们虽不认识一个词,但这个词中的某一部分(词根)我们认识。我们可以据此猜测这个生词的意思。有时即使我们不能猜出一个词的确切意思也不要紧。只要我们知道这个词表示积极还是消极的意思,通过辨认生词的位置和目的来确定它是名词、动词还是形容词。命题人员总是会在某处传递有关信息来重述、解释或者举例子。有时,文章后面会对一些生词做些解释。

三、理解主旨和要义
这类试题主要考查学生对文章主题和中心思想的领会、理解和概括能力。我们可以通过“略读(Skimming)”来获取文章或段落大意。略读时我们寻找的是主题句(topic sentence),它可以帮助我们迅速了解文章的大意。有些同学在略读时由于没有仔细阅读文章的细节部分而感到不太放心。其实这是不必要的。因为我们了解了文章大意后,再对文章做仔细阅读时,对较难文章的理解就容易多了。略读时,应该注意:
主题句大都出现在每段的第一、二句或最后一句中。作者的写作意图,是提供信息,描述人、物或事件;讨论问题,说服某人还是提出建议?或者是在进行两种观点(或事物)的比较?
其他的句子是对主题句的进一步发展,还是说明性的例子,或者是为主题句提供时间、地点或原因背景的呢?

四、进行简单的推理、判断和评价
阅读理解不仅要读懂一个个句子,而且要理解这些句子之间的内在联系。如果上下文之间存在着未充分表达的内容,学生就应该充分激活头脑中的知识和经验,根据字面意思,通过语篇逻辑关系,研究细节的暗示,推敲作者的态度,理解文章的寓意。这就是通常所说的深层理解。深层理解是一种创造性的思维活动。它必须忠实于原文,要以文章提供的事实和线索为依据,立足已知推断未知,不能凭空想象,随意揣测;它要求读者对文字的表面信息进行分析、挖掘和逻辑推理,不能就事论事,以偏概全。只有吃透文章的字面意思,推理才有前提和基础。评价则是在理解事实的基础上,对某个活动和事件提出(或选择)恰当的情感体验。

A professor told his students to go into the city slum(贫民窟) to study the life of 200 boys. He asked them to write reports about each boy’s life and future. Every one of the students wrote, “ He doesn’t have any hope.”

Everyone worries. But how do you deal with your worries Whether your worries are big or small, you can take these three steps to deal with your worries:

In 1826, a Frenchman named Niepce needed pictures for his business. But he was not a good artist. So he invented a very simple camera. He put it in a window of his house and took a picture of his garden. That was the first photo.
The next important date in the history of photography was in 1837. That year, Daguerro, another Frenchman, took a picture of his reading room. He used a new kind of camera in a different way. In his picture you could see everything very clearly, even the smallest thing. This kind of photo was called a Daguerro type.
Soon, other people began to use Daguerro’s way. Travelers brought back wonderful photos from all around the world. People took pictures of famous buildings, cities and mountains.
In about 1840, photography was developed. Then photographers could take pictures of people and moving things. That was not simple. The photographers had to carry a lot of film and other machines. But this did not stop them. For example, some in the United States worked so hard.
Mathew Brady was a famous American photographer. He took many pictures of great people. The pictures were unusual because they were very lifelike(栩栩如生)。 Photographers also became one kind of art by the end of the 19 th century. Some photos were not just copies of the real world. The first robots were invented in the 1920s. Robots have appeared in many American films. In some films, they are stronger, faster and clever than people.
In real life, robots are mainly used in factories. They do some dangerous and difficult jobs for humans.
Robots also help disabled people, for example, blind people. Today many blind people have a guide (向导) dog to help them. In the future, guide dogs might be robot dogs.
One kind of robot guide dog has wheels. It moves in front of the owner. It is very clever. It knows the speed of its owner’s walk. The owner wears a special belt (带子). This belt sends instructions to the owner from the dog, such as “Stop here”, “Turn left” or “Turn right”.

Doctor Seuss was born in 1904. By the middle 1950s, he had become one of the best ---loved and most successful children’s book writers in the world. His books are very popular with young readers. They enjoy the invented words and the pictures of unusual funny anlmals and plants.
In 1954, life magazine published (刊登) a report about school children who could not read. The report said many children’s books were not interesting. Doctor Seuss strongly hoped to help children and decided to write books that were interesting and easy to read. He used words with the same ending sound, like fish and wish. He did not receive training in art. Yet, he drew the pictures for most of his books.
In 1957, Dr. Seuss wrote The Cat in the Hat. He used less than 230 words to write the book and even a six-year-old should be able to read it. It was a fun story and easy to read. Children loved it. Their parents loved it, too. Today it is still one of the stories they like best. The success of The Cat in the Hat made him want to write more books for children. In 1960, he wrote a book using less than fifty words. The book is called Green Eggs and Ham.
In 1984, Doctor Seuss won a Pulitzer Prize (普利策奖)。He was honored for the education and enjoyment his books provided American children and their parents.

命题特点:
完形填空是考查学生综合语言运用能力的典型测试方式,要求学生从语篇层次上把握语言材料,在阅读理解的基础上进行逻辑推理,综合运用所学语言知识。一般来说,完形填空题主要考查以下几个方面的知识与技能:
1、对于文章上下文的理解和把握能力;

完形填空篇幅一般在200字左右,设空10个,文章第一句不设空。绝大部分是记叙文,有一部分说明文和议论文。题材多为幽默故事,有时会涉及英美文化、环保、校园生活等。

一、通读全文,了解大意
通读全文,理解文章大意是做好完形填空题的前提,也是减少做题盲目性的必要步骤。它对解析命题中的逻辑推理、上下文及情景语境方面的内容将起着决定性的作用。
每篇文章总有一定的主要思想,段落之间承上启下、前后呼应,句与句之间紧密相连,形成一个有机的整体。因此通读全文时要一气呵成,不要中断思路,对有些不理解的细节可以跳过。另外,在阅读时要特别注意文章的开头和结尾,因为这些句子一般不设题留空,给答题人提供必要的背景信息和文章结论。

这一步是在完成以上步骤后,检查确信自己所做题目正确性的一次检阅。它实际上是又一次的浏览快读。这次阅读就是调整、修改、完善自己的做题过程。因为,在紧张的答题过程中,会有一些我们一时无法确定而暂时搁置的题,或者在这次阅读中发现有误的题。最后一次通读全文,就会尽量保证我们完形的短文语法正确,语义合理,篇章完整。

从上题可以看出,2010年完形填空阅读量为162词(不含选项),相比往年已有较大降低。多年来济宁中考完形填空各小题四个备选项的词性相同,一些动词、名词、形容词的选项采用同样的词形变化形式。这样传递的信息就是该试题逐步趋向于考查学生对整篇文段的理解和把握能力,基本不考查学生语法等基础知识的掌握情况。如:学生不必考虑备选项答案的单词书写是否正确,词形、词性是否恰当等因素,只有正确把握全篇文段的大意,联系上下文意进行推理、判断才能正确作答。10个选项中主要是针对名词、动词等实词的考查,另外每年还都有一两个对连词的考查题,主要考查学生对行文逻辑及上下文句段之间关联的理解能力。除此之外,有些试题考查的是生活常识,或者社会热点问题,引导学生热爱生活,关注社会。这类试题需要根据人们的生活经历和体验、感受来选择恰当的答案 。

动词比其他任何词性的词更能直接、生动、形象地表现生活,没有其他任何一种词性的词可以替代动词在句中的作用,所以在英语语言应用和教学活动中,动词占据着相当重要的位置。“动词应用”是中考及学业水平测试中国的一种常见题型,主要用来测试学生对谓语动词和非谓语动词形式的掌握情况。这里的“动词应用”不仅仅指谓语动词的正确时态,还包括动词不定式、动词-ing和分词等形式,同时还涉及到主动语态、被动语态及主谓一致等知识。因此,掌握好动词的各种形式及其用法是做好此类题的关键。

H.宾语从句中,主句和从句的时态要互相照应,如果主句的时态是一般现在是或一般将来时,从句的谓语动词可根据实际情况选用任何一种时态,如:

② He says he is going to visit (visit) the Great Wall.
如果主语的谓语动词是一般过去时,宾语从句必须用相应的过去时态,如:
① My mother said she would go (go) to see my grandparents.

I.状语从句中的时态比较复杂,应注意一下几点:
主从句的时态一致性;
主句是祈使句或一般将来时,条件状语从句和时间状语从句要用一般现在时表示将来,如:
① If it rains (rain) ,we won’t go to the zoo tomorrow.
② Wei Fang is going to be a teacher when she grows (grow) up.
当过去某一动作发生时,另一动作正在进行,从句用一般过去时,主句用过去进行时,如:
① When the teacher came (come) in,the students were doing (do) their homework.
② I was playing (play) football when my friend came (come) to see me.
判断语态
语态的确定主要看句子的主语与谓语动词的关系,如果主语是谓语动作的执行者,就用主动语态;如果主语是谓语动作的承受着就用被动语态,如:
① The hole should be dug (dig) deep enough.
② The students were told ( tell )to clean the classroom.
判断非谓语动词的形式
如果所给的动词在句子中不作谓语,就应该考虑用动词的非谓语形式。究竟选用哪种形式,可根据情况从以下几个方面来考虑确认。
1、在及物动词want, hope, wish, decide, learn或相当于及物动词的短语如woukd like等后面用动词不定式作宾语;在It is time for somebody, have something ,have a lot of work等后面用动词不定式作定语;在go, come等不及物动词和do\try one’s best, enough等后面用动词不定式作状语。
2、在及物动词enjoy, finish, keep (on) ,mind,practice, go on 等及cannot help, be busy, feel like, what\how about…后面要用动词的-ing形式。
有些动词后面既可以跟动词不定式,又可以跟动名词作宾语,意思差不多,如:like, begin, start, hate等。但有些动词后面跟动词不定式作宾语与跟动名词却大相径庭。
3、有些动词要用不带to的不定式作宾语补充语。这类动词有have, let, make 等使役动词和see, watch, hear, feel, notice 等感官动词。但这类动词的被动语态要把原来省略的 to 再加上。
4、有些动词如keep, get, have等后面作宾语补充语的动词要用现在分词,如:
Mother often keeps his child drinking (drink) some milk.
另外,have后面还可以跟过去分词来表示主语“请别人做某事”。如:
In Beihai Park we had the photos taken (take).
5、在动词hear, watch, feel, see, notice等后面既可跟不带to的动词不定式,也可跟动词的-ing形式作宾语补充语。前者表示发生过的动作,指动作的全过程;后者表示这一动作正在进行。

书面表达是通过书面文字传递信息的一种交际活动。书面表达能力是语言综合运用能力的重要组成部分。
《课程标准》对初中毕业生英语写作技能的要求是:1、能根据写作要求,收集、准备素材;2、能独立起草短文、短信等,并在教师的指导下进行修改;3、能使用常见的连接词表示顺序和逻辑关系;4、能简单描述人物和事件;5、能根据所给图示或表格写出简单的段落或操作说明。
根据以上对于写作技能的目标描述,分析近年来各地中考书面表达试题,我们可以看到,书面表达是一种指导性、辅助性写作(guided writing),并不是传统意义上的作文。所谓指导性写作就是要求有必要的说明,对写作的目的、对象、时间、地点、内容等情景给予简要的提示;情景可以通过图画、图表和文字提纲(中英文)等形式来提供。之所以要求有必要的提示,就是要对学生的写作思路和范围有一定的指引和限制,使学生不会出现下不了笔或者表达漫无边际的现象。
一般来讲,书面表达的主要考查要点是看学生在完成写作任务时能否做到以下几点:
根据提示要求运用所学语言知识写出易懂的短文;
短文结构有层次、有条理,能清楚表达自己的意思;
能较为准确地运用语法和词汇,拼写、标点基本正确;
能使用简单的语句间的连接成分,使全文内容连贯。
近年来的中考书面表达以中英文提示作文、看图写作、图表作文等形式呈现,体裁包括记叙文、说明文、应用文(通知、寻物启事、请假条、信件、发言稿等),有时题目要求学生简单写出自己对所记叙事情或活动的感受或评价。题材贴近学生生活,关注社会热点问题,涉及学校及家庭生活、人们生活水平的提高、社会公益事业(希望工程、志愿者、环境保护等)、文化交流等话题,同时倡导和谐社会的主题。这类题材学生接触较多,感受也较深,以保证学生言之有物。
书面表达试题分值为15分。一类卷在内容和语言表达等方面有以下要求:完全符合题目要求,要点齐全;应用了较丰富的语言结构和词汇;用词准确、句子通顺、行文连贯、表达清楚,没有或基本没有(不超过1—2处)语言错误;书写工整;字数符合要求。字数要求一般为100字左右,开头、结尾等已给出部分不计入总词数;文中不得出现真实姓名、校名及其他相关信息,否则不予评分。
例题解析
在学业水平测试中,书面表达是单项分值最高的一部分,也是考出高分的关键所在。我们知道,写作水平的提高不是一时之功,要想在学业水平测试的书面表达中拿到高分,学生必须在日常生活中勤于思考,善于把自己的思想用英语正确地表达和记录下来;并要善于观察,积极关注热点社会现象,如人口、环保、和谐社会、世界和平等。只有通过不断的积累和磨练,才能练就良好的写作基本功。当然,除了日常积累和练习之外,做好书面表达题也有一定的方法和技巧。如何在考场上构建一篇优秀的英语作文呢?我们可以简单归纳出下面的解题步骤:
正确审题,确定内容要点。
带中英文提示的书面表达是近年来学业水平测试及中考常见题型,其特征是:中文提供情景内容,英文提供关键词语。写这类短文时,要根据中文情景扩展思路,掌握内容要点;然后参考英文提示词汇,连词成句,组句成段。审题时,一定要全面把握内容要点;可以在题目上做些标记,以免遗漏重要信息。
草拟提纲
确定内容要点后,可展开一次“brainstorm”,即头脑风暴,对主题引申出各种联想和论点,并从提示的内容要点出发,围绕关键信息开拓思路,发挥联想,记录下联想到的东西,可以是单词或词组;然后根据自己已有的经验和词汇量选择最熟悉、最有把握的方面来写;最后将相关的想法以句子或短语的形式列出。
写出段落主题句
在提纲的基础上,把列出的短语或简单的句子扩充为更完整的概括性句子,就成了段落的主题句。英语文章中主题句(topic sentence)很重要。段落主题句语法结构完整、内容概括、用词简洁明了,一般位于段落的开头。
参照提纲,紧扣主题句,完成段落。
围绕各段主题句,展开2—3句的阐述,可以举实例或进一步推理说明,来支持主题句,表达一个完整的意思。注意内容应与主题句保持一致,各个段落要层次分明,避免交叉和重复。句与句、段与段之间的衔接要自然、连贯。
切忌把中文提示的情景逐词逐句地翻译,要用自己熟悉的词汇和句型来表达思想内容。平时应加强训练用不同的句型结构表达同一个内容,同时还得注意灵活运用长短句,恰当使用过渡词。提倡大胆使用长句和复合句,合理使用高级词汇,使文章呈现出句式的多样性和语言的丰富性,这样才有可能获得高分。
认真检查。
当整篇作文写完后,一定要进行仔细的检查。检查内容包括:
文章是否切题;
信息点是否齐全;
句子连接是否流畅;
时态、语态、主谓一致、名词单复数等语法点是否有误;
单词拼写、词组搭配是否有误;
标点符号是否规范;
字数是否符合要求。
下面,我们分别就记叙文、说明文和应用文三种体裁,结合试题做较为详细的解析。
记叙文
记叙文是以写人、叙事为主要内容的一种文体,也是英语作文中最普遍、最基本的文体。它一般包括两种:事实记叙文好想象记叙文。事实记叙文是写真实事情,常用一般过去时;想象记叙文是写虚拟的故事,常用一般现在时。它们的特点都是通过对人物、事件和景物的描写,表现文章的主题和作者的思想感情。
记叙文写作的基本要求是什么呢?
要有明确的中心思想。②记叙要清楚明白。③线索要清晰。④要有恰当的叙事角度。⑤选材要详略得当。
具体地说,记叙文写作要把握以下几点:
记叙文所记叙的事件必须相关连。要有开头、中间和结尾,在必要时可加入冲突,以使情节曲折,跌宕起伏。一般来说,写记叙文应把握好六个要素:who(何人),what(何事),when(何时),where(何地),why(何因),how(怎样)。初中阶段多为叙事短文,一般包括where, who, what这三个最基本的要素。
写作时观点的掌握非常重要。记叙文常用第一人称或第三人称两种人称记述。用第一人称的角度记叙,使人感到亲切,读者很容易产生身临其境之感,相信真有其事,这种形式常用在写自传、本人的经历或记叙耳闻目睹的事件;用第三人称的角度记叙,使人感到客观,这种形式常用在对重大事件的客观报道,以及记叙他人的经历或事迹。
常见的叙事方式有:①顺序。按事情发展的顺序或时间顺序进行叙述。②倒叙。把事情的结局或某个突出的片段提到前面叙述,然后再按照事情的顺序叙述下去。③插叙。在叙述过程中,由于某种需要,暂时把叙述的线索中断一下,插入有关的另一叙述。④夹叙夹议。一方面叙述事情,一方面对这件事情加以分析或评论。

说明文
说明文是以说明为主要表达方式,用简洁明了的文字介绍事物、解释事理的文章。它是一种应用性很强的文体。凡是对事物的类别、性质、特征、状态、功能等进行解释,以及对事物的发生、发展、消亡过程进行解说的文章,都属于说明文。说明的目的是让读者有所知,给读者提供知识,使之了解客观世界,掌握问题的解决办法。说明文的基本特点是具有知识性、科学性、应用性、解说性和条理性。常见的说明文有解说词、说明书、书文简介、科普小品、内容提要等,它们或者用来介绍人物,或者用来介绍事物,或者用来解释概念,或者用来解说论据。
要写好说明文,应该注意一下几点:
抓住事物特点即本质特征,从而使读者获得全面、深刻的认识。
安排说明顺序。说明文常用的结构安排有下列三种:时间顺序,空间顺序,逻辑顺序。有时说明复杂的事物,常常将几种说明顺序结合运用。
讲究说明方法。写好事物说明文,不仅要抓住特征,注意条理,而且要巧妙运用说明方法,像下定义、举例子、作比较、分类别、列数字、画图表、打比方等,这样类别清楚,层次分明,增强说明的生动性、形象性,使被说明事物的特征变得鲜明突出,可以把复杂的事物说得清楚、直观。
说明语言要准确、简明、通俗、生动。因为说明文的写作目的,是对事物作有条理的、客观的、科学的介绍和解释。
说明文常用现在时态,但有时也会用到过去时、将来时等其他时态。
(一)人物介绍
简要地介绍某个人的情况,叫做人物介绍。随着社会的发展,人们对信息的输出和输入愈来愈重视。在学习、工作和生活中,常要介绍自己、推销自己或宣传他人,这都需要作人物介绍。写人物介绍,首先要全面了解这个人,然后根据目的来选择写作内容,简明扼要、突出重点地介绍。力求真实准确,恰如其分。
写人物介绍一般包括以下几点:
1、出生年月2、主要经历3、事迹成就4、影响、评价
叙述方法:一般按照时间顺序,从外形到性格,从一般经历到创造性的贡献,最后常有结论性的评语。
(二)事物、地点介绍
当我们对某个事物的性质、特点、状态、成因、功能和用途等作介绍时,或把某一地点介绍给别人时,写出来的文字材料就叫做事物、地点介绍。
对于地点的介绍,常采用地点的空间方位作为介绍的顺序。它能把复杂的地理位置通过分层说明,详尽而有条理地解说清楚,给读者一个具体、清晰地印象。
根据说明地点的结构特点,介绍顺序一般有定位观察顺序和移位观察顺序。
定位观察顺序
先确定一个固定的观察点,然后或上或下,或左或右,或远或近,按合理的顺序,从不同的方位、角度介绍说明的地点。
移位观察顺序
一般按作者的浏览顺序,依次设立一个个观察点,逐步逐层对介绍的地点进行介绍。

英美常用的书信格式有两种:第一种是写信人地址和写信日期在右上角,收信人地址、姓名在左上角,正文每段起行都留有5个字母大小的空间。第二种是每段起行都不留余地,段与段之间空一行,商业信件或公函多用此格式。也可以第一段起行不留余地,自第二段起起行留有余地。在说些地址时,小地址在前,大地址在后。第一行写门牌号、街道名称;若是乡、镇、村,则先写村名,再写乡、镇名。第二行写县、市、区、省及邮政编码。若是国际邮件,则还需第三行,写国名。
2、开场白与结束语
英语书信的称呼常用dear,如Dear friend, Dear Dad等。正文的第一段常写些客套话,表示感激或思念之情。如:Thank you for…, It’s a pleasure for me to…, Glad to get your…, Haven’t seen you for ages, how are things getting on 等。结束语常作为最后一段,也很简单,常写些祝愿的话语,如:Best wishes! Wish you good luck! Hope you are healthy. Write to me soon. Hope to hear from you . Give my best wishes to…等等。结尾署名时多用 Yours, Yours ever, Yours sincerely,Yours truly, Your loving等。此类例子不必多举,因为课本中常见。
(二)发言稿
写发言稿时,应注意它由三个部分构成:
开场白(问候语、称呼语、客套话等)
正文
结束语(表示感谢、祝愿、希望等)、

(三)日记
日记写法非常简单,第一行顶格开始写月、日、星期,第一行末尾写天气情况,第二行起即为正文,格式与书信一致。日记的内容可详可略,一般来说,记录下当日发生的事即可,多用过去时态,最好再写一写自己对此事的看法或感受。
(四)通知
通知的写法有别于书信和日记,它要求简明扼要地写明时间、地点、事件、人物,落款处注明发通知的单位或个人的姓名及时间,格式与汉语的通知相同。例如:

(六)贺卡
贺卡是表达自己对亲友、老师等人的祝贺时使用的一种友好的交流形式,通常分为节日贺卡、纪念日贺卡、生日贺卡、成功贺卡等种类。贺卡的语言要求简洁、明快,以祝愿、祝贺为主题,抒发自己的内心情感。贺卡的书写格式与书信一致。例如:

书面表达小技巧
1、选用比较有把握的词汇,用恰当的句型写出确切反映内容要求的句子。在熟悉的基础上,鼓励多用高级词汇和结构复杂的复合句。如表达“为了。。。”时,可用in order to do或 so as to do ,也可用 so that 引导目的状语从句。
2、表达限定的内容有困难时,要用变通的方法,以达到“曲径通幽”。如要译“他表哥外强中干”这样一句话,表达起来似乎很难,但我们完全可以通过学过的句子、单词将这句话明白贴切地表达出来:His cousin looks strong but in fact, he is rather weak.
3、避免使用汉语式的英语。例如要表达“她睡得很迟”,不可以写成:She slept very late。应该写成She went to bed very late 。因为sleep late表示“睡懒觉”。又如要表达“他一点都不担心他的英语”,不可写成:He is not a little worried about his English. 实际上意思完全相反,表达成“他非常担心他的英语”了。应该是:He is not worried about his English at all.
4、为了使句子或段落语义连贯,表达合理准确,可以适当加入一些连接词语。如表达转折可用but, however, otherwise 等,表达递进可用 and, also, besides, what is more 等,表达因果用so, therefore, as a result 等,表达对比可用at the same time, meanwhile, while等,表达让步可用though, although, even if 等。有时还需要加入一些必要的过渡句子以达到承上启下的效果。
