almost vs. nearly

辨析
这两个单词意思相近，在肯定句中可以互换使用，一般来说，almost的差距比nearly小。
在差一刻开午饭时，可以说：
It’s nearly lunchtime. 快到午餐时间了。
在差5分钟开午饭时，可以说：
It’s almost lunchtime. 马上就要开饭了。
almost可以和never, no, none, nothing， nobody, nowhere, too, more than等词（组）连用。
I almost never see her.
我几乎从未见过她。

nearly 前可用 very, pretty, not 等词修饰，但 almost 之前不能用这些词修饰。
The car is pretty nearly new. 这辆汽车几乎是全新的。

almost 和 nearly 都可用在行为动词的否定形式之前。
