Listen to a song to relax the students to get ready for the class. Learning goals: By the end of the lesson, you will
1.master some strategies and skills of reading;
2.become efficient and competent in reading .
Teacher’s expectation: The students can build confidence in reading passages and enjoy reading after class.
Step 1 Warming-up to lead in the class.
Ask and answer between the teacher and students.

Step 2 Pre-reading
1. Ask and answer between the teacher and students to lead in the graduation ceremony and introduce some background information about it.(pay attention to some phrases: see...off, take photos, exchange gifts, give graduating speech etc. )
2. Read 1a by themselves quickly, and answer some simple questions. ① How many paragraph in the passage And the structure ② What do they get if they pass all the subjects successfully ③ Do they have the feelings like you How do they feel Step 3 Careful reading
1. Please read the passage carefully and challenge themselves to finish some tasks.
(There are 5 challenges for students to know some basic ways of question-reading in general.) 2. Introduce the six question-reading ways for them.
3. Describe some basic skills of finishing those different reading ways correctly. Details: 1.忠于原文找原句;
2.找相关信息进行对比: 3.找近义词或者同义词。
Definition\ Word definition : 1.同义法、反义法; 2.释义法、替代法;
3.情景推断法、逻辑判断法。 Logic\Type: 1.可采用“首尾定位法”,即最先找出第一个事件和最后一个事件,迅速缩小选择 范围。
2. 找到文章的线索,时间顺序;空间转移;事件发生的先后顺序,关注每段的首尾 的衔接线索。
Purpose\Attidute: 写作意图要从整体布局出发,而不是只看部分细节事实。
Inference: 与原文相同的细节不能选;文中没有出现的细节不能跳出文章做推断。
Best title\Main idea: 开头结尾的段落很重要,每段句首句尾要抓牢,作者意图要明确。

Could the students from less developed areas in central and western China get the same educational chances as those in big cities in the east Could the children in poor rural (农村) areas develop as well as those in rich cities Maybe the answers were “No” in the past. But now, China is trying to change the situation. In order to help rural students grow taller and stronger, China’s Nutrition (营养) Improvement Program started in 2011. According to the program, a lot more money was spent improving students’ meals. More than 36 million students from 134,000 primary and junior high schools in poor rural areas have benefited from the program. They are provided with healthy food like eggs and milk from Monday to Friday at school. And the result of a survey shows that the students in those areas are much taller and stronger than before.
It is true that there were differences between less developed areas and developed areas in education before. Recently, The Guideline for Popularizing High School Education(2017-2020) has come out. According to the guideline, above 90% students from all over the country will go to high school by 2020. What’s more, the students in central and western areas will get more support to improve their education. Students from rural and poor areas also get more chances to receive higher education. A special college program makes it possible for more students from those areas to go to key(重点) colleges and universities. The number will be increased by 10% in 2017.
With the guideline and the programs, we can expect a fairer and more balanced(均衡的)

People often think of the North Pole(北极)and the South Pole as similar frozen(冰冻的)wastelands.They are both places with very cold temperatures and few people live there.However,the North and South Poles are not much alike as people may imagine.
