Step 1 Pre-reading
T: Good morning, boys and girls.

T: I’m very happy to be your teacher today. I hope we can enjoy this lesson. OK

T:Now let’s watch a video.(视频里是当今各种环境污染问题)
T: Look, 让学生说说从录像里看到了些什么,然后老师可以引导学生理解课题,the Earth is not as beautiful as before. So we must protect the earth.(揭题)
So today we’ll talk about how to protect the Earth.(揭题) Let’s be the green guards to protect the Earth. OK
Ss: OK.
T: How can we become green guards Look, here are some steps.
课件展示成为环保小卫士的步骤:
We know the use of water, energy, trees and plastic.(我们能了解水,能源和树的作用)
We know the problems of them(我们能了解他们出了什么问题)
We know the solutions of the problems(我们能知道怎样解决)
We can talk about protecting the Earth(我们能用英语谈论关于如何保护地球)
T: OK. Let’s go to step one.
Step 2 While-reading
Watch and answer.
T:Boys and girls, can you give titles to the pictures Let’s watch a cartoon and answer.

T:Good! Now can we find out the use of the four things (连线)

Where does the energy come from ---Most of our energy comes from coal and oil.
Where does wood come from ---Wood comes from trees. (新授)
T: Good.
Read and discuss
T: They are useful. But we can’t use them too much. There are some problems with them. Read the passage and discuss in pairs. Then try to find out their problems.

1.Make posters
T: We can do a lot of things to protect the Earth. As green guards, we should perform our duties. Look, my student in Nan tong made a poster. (可出示些相关的图片或是视频)Let’s make posters, too. And let more people know how to protect the Earth. OK Now discuss with your group members and write down your suggestions about protecting the Earth on the posters. You can use the helpful phrases at the back of the paper. (先展示自己学生做的一份海报,后让学生小组讨论合作做海报,展示)

Step 4:Homework:
1,Show your posters to more people and let them know how to protect the Earth.
