二、教学目标：
听说读单词e-book, mobile phone, newspaper, radio, telephone, e-friend, anywhere, could，并能运用于语句中。
掌握动词过去式的发音及用法，会说…could/ could not…
通过过去和现在的对比，感受个人的成长和社会的进步，及合理地使用高科技。
教学重难点
现在时和过去时的对比和使用。
本单元重点新单词和句型的掌握
能感受现代科技给人们生活工作带来的变化，并能合理使用。

五、教学过程：
Step 1. Warming up
1.T: Do you know the song
S: Where is time going
T: Yes, time flies quickly. We are growing up, and the things around us are changing.
Step2. Before reading
Show the photo of Mike.
T: Who’s he Can you say sth about Mike
Yes, Mike is a school boy, He can do many things. Guess, What can he do Or What else can he do
Show the photo of Mike six years ago.
Mike can do many things, but six years ago, he was a little boy, What could he do What couldn’t he do Can you guess
Step3. Whole reading
1. T: Perfect. I like your ideas. Now I’ll show you Mike’s family. Do you know them Who is he/ she ( Mike, Mr Brown, Mrs Brown, Mike’s grandpa)
2. T: Let’s look at the pictures, and say the changes of them.
S: Say sth about the pictures (根据学生的描述贴板书，相机教学新词汇： telephone, mobile phone,radio)
Listen to the tape , check the phrases and match.
According to the blackboard, compare the phrases, lead into the topic-- Then and now
Read the story time, and find out other information
Teach : anywhere, from all over the world
总结：In fact, everyone is changing everyday( the changes of people), What they look like is changing(appearance) , and what they can do is changing, too(ability).

Now, we go to work or school by car or metro.
In the past, we didn't have tall buildings. We lived in the bungalows.（平房）
Now, we live in tall buildings and use a lift up and down.
