Hello, everyone! Nice to meet you! Today I am very pleased to have an opportunity to talk about some of my teaching ideas. My topic is Winter Fun from Lesson 12 of Unit 2 in SB 11.
Part 1 My understanding of this lesson
The analysis of this lesson:
This lesson is a reading passage. It is a very funny part in the English teaching of this unit. This lesson is mainly around the “winter snowman and winter fun” this topic to learn, close to the student's real life, stories and more real language use. By learning this lesson, to learn to use these sentences, and used to describe some winter fun. The students should do some listening, speaking, reading and writing, too.
Teaching aims:
1. Knowledge aim: Students can read, write, say and aurally understand these English vocabulary: snowman, snowball, another, slide. Sentences: We make.... What else do you do in winter in China? Sometimes...
2. Ability aim: Students understand the process description for winter snowman.
3. Emotional aim: By learning how to make a snowman in winter, so that students feel the pleasures of winter. Enhancing students ' awareness of nature lovers
Teaching important points:
Learn to use the English expression how to make a snowman.
Teaching difficult points:
Learn to use the English expression other winter fun.
Something about the Ss:
Before learning this lesson, students had known about some of the content of winter, but how to use English to describe a snowman in winter or do not understand. For winter activities description will find it difficult, but teaching close to the students ' lives, is one of the students’ favorite topic, so through the learning of this lesson, for the next discourse teaching and lay a solid foundation.

Teaching aids:
For this lesson, I prepare: Multimedia courseware, and word cards, tape, tape recorder,plasticine.
Part 3. Teaching steps
To achieve the teaching goal, I designed this teaching process:
Step1: Warm up and Review
After the greeting, I will use these questions to open this lesson:
1. How many seasons are there in a year?
??? 2. How’s the weather in spring/summer/fall/winter?
?? 3. In different seasons, what do you wear?
??? This process students review the old knowledge of language, good bedding for the next learning, also through questions allow students to focus all his attention,too, created a good atmosphere for learning.
Step2: New concepts
1. Show Pictures 1 about winter, lead a dialogue such as:
T: What season is it? S: Winter.
? T: Do you like winter??? ? S: Yes, we like it very much.
? T: What do you like to do in winter? S: ...
2. Show the Picture 2, ask: What are they doing? Point every activity and have Ss talk about it such as: They are making snowballs and throw them/ sliding/skiing on the snow/skating on the ice....Write them on the blackboard. Read the important words some times.
Through this step, enable students to master the phrases of winter fun.
3. Show the Picture 3, ask: “What’s this?” “Do you know how to make it?” Use these questions to lead in this lesson. I will play the tape, have Ss listen, and repeat.
4. Show pictures and key words one by one, let Ss complete the blanks. Read some times.
In the listening process to master the main, use the exercise to consolidate the purpose.
5. Divide Ss into groups to talk about how to make snowmen. They can use plasticine to make a “snowman”.
6. Have volunteer groups present in front of the classroom, and tell how to make a snowman.
Use this step to consolidate expression how to make a snowman.
7. Model the use of “Why? Because_____?” like:
I say: Today is three degrees, it’s very cold. I want to go inside/put on winter clothes. Why? Because I’m very cold! Tell students: Use “Why?” to ask, and must to use “Because_____” to answer.
