Bears perform under the lights each evening. In order to train a bear to walk on two feet, bears are chained(铁链锁住) by the neck to the wall when they are young to strengthen their leg muscles.
Humans share the earth with different kinds of wildlife. However, many of our animal and plant friends may not be around for much longer.
According to the first report on biodiversity (生多样性) released by the United Nations in May 2019, 1 million of earth’s species are in danger of extinction (灭绝).
Humans are mainly to blame for this, according to the report. The world’s population has more than doubled (from 3.7 to 7.6 billion) in the last 50 years. Humans have used more than a third of the world’s land and 75 percent of freshwater supplies (供应) to grow crops and keep livestock (牲畜). As a result, there are fewer habitats and natural resources available for animals.
Last year alone at least 20,000 African elephants were killed for their teeth. In South Africa over the last two years more than 2,200 rhinos were killed for their horns.

[para1] Do you know what a pangolin is A baby panda A special fruit grown in Indonesia Well, it seems the pangolin is well known in the black market trade. That’s right, the pangolin is a mammal (哺乳动物). There are eight variations of the pangolin from Asia and Africa.
Variation is something that is slightly different from the usual form.
How many kinds of pangolins are there in the world
Why do people seldom know this animal
[para2] People seldom know this animal because you’re unlikely to see a pangolin in a zoo. No wild animal enjoys being caged (放笼子), neither does a pangolin. If caged, they become depressed and die early.
[para3] People don’t know much about them. We know they eat ants, but their diet may include all kinds of other bugs. We don’t know how long they live in the wild or much about their breeding habits. They are mammals of mystery.
If someone is depressed, he is unhappy and without hope.
Mystery is something strange or not known.
Pangolins are our friends. They eat over 70 kinds of ants. Every year a pangolin can eat 7, 000, 000 harmful ants. This helps protect our forests. When pangolins find one family of ants, they just eat a half and leave the other half to live. How kind the little animals are!

Being caged causes the depression and early death of pangolins.
